Clerks
one word- FUNNY
-
Big Trouble In Little China (John Carpenter) - great pacing, imagery, blend of genres and a tongue-in cheek style that was grossly misunderstood when it was released. narrative entertainment at its finest...

Goodfellas is very over-rated, I couldn't watch more then 45 minutes of it.

I watched it after watching all the seasons of Sopranos, and to be honest, the Sopranos, although a TV show, seemed like it captured the whole mafia thing a lot better then Goodfellas. It was especially strange getting used to the major characters in the Sopranos with their minor roles in this movie. Although it's no fault of the movie itself. I also really don't like Joe Pesci in any movie he's ever done. None of the scenes seemed that classic, as I've seen them all before re-portrayed. Maybe if I watched this movie when it came out, I'd appreciate it more.
I would recommend a newer movie I saw a year ago, called "The Prestige", most people probably saw it. It's not as good as some of the older classics. But as movies made these days are concerned, it's one the better ones.

Lord Of War due to it starts Mr. Nicholas Cage and it's actually pretty thought provoking. It's got a great cast, full of action, shows the consequences of the gun business, and it is just an overall great movie in my opinion. I loved this movie to death.

That move is just sad unless you watch the happy alternate ending.

I think mine would probably be Goodfellas too actually, agree with "every scene being a classic". Dogs Day Afternoon, Donnie Brasco & Blow could well be up there. Yes, i like Al Pacino and Depp. lol And i dont think anyone needs to mention Godfather & Scarface, that's a given. Oh shit Casino!
Seeing as the thread title said ONE movie, i'll stop there....
PS Home Alone 1 & 2. Classic Material.

Seven Samurai

I think the Notebook, because it shows you that true love can exsist and stand through a lifetime.
-
I really did enjoy this movie it was really funny and it also showed that true love can stand through anything.

somethin similar bout that, lol

City Of God, im sure u guys love drug movies

I used to think Goodfellas was overrated. When I first saw it it seemed like more of a romance to me - atleast 50% deals with liotta's relationships with the two girls. The scenes with the mob are classic, though.
I don't know what I'd pick. T2 was my favorite film once upon a time, but I guess maybe I'd recommend Pulp Fiction over it.
