Intelligent Hoodlum is better known as Tragedy Qadafi, when he first came out he was on some black power shit, then he flipped and turned gangsta

CNN used to be his proteges but he had a bad beef with Nore....i think they squashed that, but yeah he from QB too so maybe thats why Nas sounds kinda like him

His first joint was called Tragedy: Saga of a Hoodlum, that came out way back like 93....

he was supposed to have Against All Odds come out, i dunno if that actually got released

Check out Blood Type...he dissed Nore bad in there

tragedy khadafi was the only reason nore sounded tight on war report. oh yeah and against all odds was released in 99 i believe. dope cd.

lol i remember when nore tried to flip the script and say some bullshit like he ghostwrote for trag...why would he hire some wack ass rapper who spits idiotic shit back 2 back and uses simple metaphors when he could wipe the floor with him in 8 bars?

Actually Saga of A Hoodlum is his second album, his first album was just "Intelligent Hoodlum"  and while it didn't have his name as Tragedy on there he still called himself that.  Its entirely produced by Marley Marl, at least thats what the case says, I've had people tell me that really the record company just put his name on it.  BUt it sounds like him.

If you can find it you should get "Against All Odds" because I doubt you'll find either of his first 2 lp's or the ep he put out a few years ago.

One song you should download is "permanently scarred".  Like alot of his songs its very introspective like alot of his more recent work.

"On my back staring at the ceiling, through dealing
Sweat dripping, hands together, my knees kneeling
Where was God when my pops fell to his death bleeding?
Was he trapped like Martin in his last cry for freedom?"
-Tragedy

just a sample of his shit

one thing I forgot to mention is that he influenced the whole second generation of QB rappers from Nas and Prodigy to Capone and anyone else coming out of the area.

cool. someone else here knows who this guy is  ;D

i've got most of his first and second albums, and all of 'thug matrix'

ohh and a mpg rip of the video for Grand Groove.

In my searches I found a page putting 'Arrest The President' just below Ras's Nature Of The Threat as the best in its genre.

Yeah, this guy is dope. I only have the "Against All Odds" LP on CD but I got a few mp3's from him too, there was some nice production from Ayatollah on there and he got some pretty deeps lyrics going on. I read an interview with him a few weeks ago, it was either from sohh.com or allhiphop.com, can't remember which site, but he talked about the beefs between Nas & Jay, he also spoke about Nore, and he said he was working on some new material.
This newish MC I've just discovered, Immortal Technique reminds me of Tradegy, ya'll should check him out too.

That's why he's so focused.... and...... his producer Ayotallah is a Muslim.  Ayotallah is named after an early 1900's totalitarian leader who brought the Shariah (Islamic law) to the people of Iran.
