I never heard their first album, but "Wooden Leather" blew me away. It was a soulful, uplifting album with some great production and great rhymes - 'Push On' is one of those tracks that makes me smile and decide to persevere if I'm having a fucked up day.

That 'Innerstate Music' net-only release didn't do it for me - I downloaded it with the aim of buying it legit if I liked it, but it was just nowhere near good enough. Someone on this board at the time described it as a great example of grown-folks hip-hop, but we must have been listening to different albums - for every track that hit the highs of 'Wooden Leather', there were two horrible, synth-heavy , quote-unquote southern rap songs.

Which is a convoluted way of saying I'm wary of buying this new CD. I'm certainly intrigued though.

^u should really listen to their first album..its even better than wooden leather

u gotta look at 'inner state music' as a temporary release to give their fans a quick fix..although i liked that album, im sure it was mostly throwaway material because it was released via online

even if i wasnt blown away, no way i'd be wary of copping the new one.

How much do Nappy pay you for your PR services? LOL, just kidding.

How many tracks have been heard from the new album? I heard that No Static joint or whatever it was called. Kinda nice.
