Oh you're on about Adulthood the sequel?

Yeah that kidulthood portrayed teenage life in britain almost too well, i didn't like it too much because it basically reminded me of the areas around England, though that's not a reason to demote the film, it was good at what it showed, today's society. The beginning and the end was too much for me to watch nearly, i didn't like seeing that girl getting treated like that or...Well i can't spoil the end can i lol.

Adulthood even though i might not like it, it seems interesting so i might have to check it out.

I saw a trailer about it back on MTV Base time ago, this time it follows samuels life after that event i think.

The white one wasn't it right? That's reality for you in England son.

Oh....I thought that too about Sam, but it seems things are going to change. Adulthood is coming out in UK Cinemas 20th June...Right around the corner. It looks like this time he's had time to reflect on where his life was going...Interesting finish to watch G.

this film doesnt represent reality in London at all. its goes overboard in its representation of drugs, violence, prostitution etc.. simply to be entertaining.. its too hollywoodish film tpe in the way it makes out life is much worse then it actually is..

Lmao...Just where the hell are you two when on the news Teenage deaths, most especially in london are taking place?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7117749.stm

When your age group is 13 - early 20's you should easily recongise today's teenage society with growing knife and gun crimes, unless you live in a quiet part of england.

it the context of how big London in a few teenage deaths is a very small percentage of people that actually get murdered.. London is a city with a population of 7.5 million and 10, 20 even 100 murders would represent less then 0.5% percent of the population of London..

true london does have rougher parts, but it also has posh parts .. i myself grew up in Newham(dont live there anymore)which is one the worst boroughs statistically in terms of crimes commited and educational levels kids reach... the kids there they like to portray a hard image.. a cool image..its cool to act like a gangster... fillms and movies glamourise it that 'character'..they even play more on it when they with there mates...they run there mouths and are cocky with there 'brehs'.. but most of them when there alone they walk fast with ther caps down..really they harmless little kids.. who are have no real direction in life.. most of these kids if sum1 wants to scrap em one on one..there like 'oh sorry oh sorry, i didnt mean it' .. they aint really gangstas who go around selling drugs, beating ppl up.. u will only have the odd kid..say one outta 20-30 whose actually like the kids portrayed in Kidulthood.. most of the kids the age of kids in Kidulthood think there hard and more macho when they see gangsta/violent films.such as kidulthood, Godfathers etc. they not actual real life thugs !

the entertainment industry.. such as films and soaps.. they find there there audience by having dramatic plots and storylines.. normally every day life in London..well the average person is a peaceful citizen who gets up in the morning goes to work and comes home..maybe getting drunk on a friday/saturday... it wouldnt be so entertaining for every1 to see that on a screen... thats why films and soap such as Green Street, Football Factory, Kidulthood & Eastsenders.. portray stories which are gonna be shocking and have stuff happening in them to grip viewers.. look at Eastenders for example.. the death rate in Eastenders in 4 times the annual average of the UK..

when u starting thinking a movie is real life..that confuses ur perception...guys remember its purely fictional entertainment !! and entertainment is a form of escapism..dont get it mixed up with real life..

Haha...Thing is that isn't based on everday life. It was purely based on having a day off school and what kids would get up to on their free time, this would probably be the same matter if it was on the weekend. Suicide used to be a big thing in my books me when i was younger, i brush it off now that i've learnt a majority of girls in their teen years have been through either sucide attempt, cutting themselfs because of depression, self injury, etc etc.

it the context of how big London in a few teenage deaths is a very small percentage of people that actually get murdered.. London is a city with a population of 7.5 million and 10, 20 even 100 murders would represent less then 0.5% percent of the population of London..

Yes but Eastenders is a bad example, would you spend your christmas in the pub?

The film Kidulthood, the upcoming Adulthood and various other films like 'Kids' (look it up on wikipedia) was developed to bring awareness to our local english society the uprise in teenage attacks, deaths, hoodlems, etc etc. Simple thing to me is, if you honestly feel this film was overhyped Momo, you haven't seen with your own eyes England coming to a dark age with children. It's those few teenage deaths that is alarming considering back in the 90's it wasn't that much bad compared to today. Why is it rising? What's causing it? That's the big issue with today.

People are trying to combat it, it's not bringing any result. Yes you're right some of london might be posh but that applies with other towns/citys that have gangs, certain parts in their area have posh sides too. Fact is Teenage issues are uprising and kidulthood was the 'Hi wake up! This shit is happening and you don't even see it!' wake up call the people need.

Kidulthoods story was perfectly legit, a suicide from a young girl being bullied at school, definitly not an unheard case in the news. Knowing someone who deals in drugs/arms possession and isn't english decent, girls who're so desperate to stay cool/fall in with the crowd that will resort to doing drugs, maybe to stay looking good or something. People losing their lives after parties is a common case.

Hell....Do you know what's even funnier? There's an uprising in all girl gangs now.

Lmao i read it in the dailymail and caught heed of it on the news...Who would have thought girls are rising to power again  :D

Yeah it came out, in Milton Keynes. Some towns it's not going to appear in though.

By the way i wouldn't recommend going out of your way to watch this UNLESS you really want to know how it all ends up.

Why? Because it's looks like a TV special. The INCREDIBLE Hulk looked like a film.

If i had a choice, i would have waited until it came on dvd and just borrowed it to see it.

The films have been made on rather small budgets, I think the first one was £800,000 & Audlthood was a million.

I don't know wheither or not you'll be disappointed lol depends what you're going to the cinema for, work it out yourself :P you looking to find out what happens to sam in the end or you looking to experiance serious cinema quality films? Once you know that then you know what you must do lol.

Adulthood just came out in the cinemas recently, it won't be on DVD for some time i bet.
