I wouldn´t put THAT much "<" there. Sure, Austria sucks when it comes to football but I guess we´re on the right track.We´ll find out if Austria can pull off an upset victory in the next few days . Normally Austria should lose to any of the other 3 teams in group B but with the Euro here you never know.
I did a little betting and being patriotic and optimistic for this tournament Austria comes in second in group B.

austrias number 4 clearly doing a foul by kickin the hell outta IVICA OLIC, finishing with a slap on the face ..austria player 4 already had yellow card and did insane foul on Olic when he was clearly runnin to 16m space. this was insane referee , this was a disgrace for UEFA.

I don't give a flying fuck about Austria - I hold no grudges against them (why would I), but really, when it comes to Austria, I'm definitely a neutral observer unless I dislike the opponent which doesn't apply to Croatia, I actually like them for teaching the English a lesson they badly needed, and for playing pretty decent soccer. But yes, I sympathize with the Austrians in this case. Of course Croatia had the better start, there's no discussing the foul that led to their goal and of course that Austrian guy would have had to be sent off. But what happened in the first 30 minutes is very different from what happened after that...the Croatians started playing defensive and totally boring football and actually contributed a lot to the Austrians (who were straight up intimidated in the beginning) gaining momentum and starting to believe in themselves. In the 2nd half the Austrians were the better team, period. Of course they didn't have too many great opportunities, but they put a lot of effort into the game and they actually played a lot better than I would have thought they had the potential to. The Croatians became slightly insecure and there were two or three opportunities when a good striker or just a bit of luck would have made it 1-1. And the Croatians would have had that coming to them.
Also, wtf are you talking about as for the referee? Are you Croatian, if I may ask? He made one big mistake, but in the second half, when Austria became stronger, he was about as far from sucking their dicks as he was from anything else.

That was a big mistake, but he was a good referee today. I think what made the referee decide to not give a card was that that Croatian player cried like a baby there.

It's all good, have a prop, too..........what I do still believe is that you have to give it to the Austrians for playing, well, decent football in half two. I'm not saying they should have won, I'm just saying that, after like 85 minutes, no one could have complained if they had scored the equalizer and that's also how I compared it to Switzerland - Czech Republic

I think we deserved a tie. I´m not trying to take anything away from Croatia but you have to realize that Croatia is a good team while Austria is, well Austria (when it comes to football.)
So, of course, ending up with a 0:1 just after 4 minutes of play a team like Austria is intimitated. At that point I thought the game would end like 4:0 cause Croatia would just rape us. But Croatia didn´t score another goal (for whatever reason) and we became better. The last 15 minutes it was just Austria playing and I think that Croatia was lucky that we didn´t score.
Whatever though, I wish Croatia good luck cause I like them. At the same time I, like everyone else in Ausria who is at least a little interested in football, still believes in the team and wants them to pull off the surprise advancement to the quarters (which would be a big step for us lol. )

I expect narrow victories for Germany and Poland, although draws would be possible in both cases, too. Victories for Croatia or Austria would surprise me, but it's not totally out of the questions, a German loss against Croatia wouldn't be a first and the Austrians were a positive surprise in Round 1.

No, really, this is a good German team, but the Croatians deserved every bit of that victory. They were the better team which, after that lame game against Austria, really surprised me. Olic was great, Srna was strong, Korluca was strong, Modric, Kranjcar, they all played great football...on the German side, only a few were decent. Jansen was fucking wack and his replacement Odonkor wasn't anyone's definition of a monster either. And what made this whole thing so beautiful is that the two German players of whom I really think they're morons sucked worst: Ballack spent his time arguing with the referee (yes, do fucking ducktape him), whining, complaining, bitching, playing shitty passes to Croatians and comitting pointless fouls. And Schweinsteiger got what was coming to his dumb ass.
Germany is almost certainly gonna make it to round two, but instead of the Czechs (or maybe Turkey), they're gonna have to deal with the Portuguese. This is gonna be interesting.

Maybe you can provide some insight to me: Whenever I hear something about the Polish (I know I don't know much, and I won't offend a people I know so badly, but it stands as that, whenever I do hear something about them), it's a bunch of people getting totally emotional and rather aggressive about the profane matter of football. I heard shit about the press making the Germany game to be something like a WWII rematch and drawing cartoons of Beenhakker holding the blood-dripping heads of decapitated German players. I hear about people talking about "war", "combat" and "spilling blood". I see retarded pictures like the ones in this thread calling for the assassination of a referee, and you seem to post them up suggesting that this is the most sensible reaction to a decision you disagree with in a fucking soccer game...so: Why all the hate?
The penalty kick is something you can argue about, IMO the decision is technically correct, but based on a rule that, if really enforced, would lead to about 5 penalty kicks a game. But what makes all the Polish haters look particularly stupid is that the referee gave you an OBVIOUS, nothing-to-even-think-of-arguing-about offside goal (there's proof). So you're no one to complain
...and for the record, I'm not biased. I'm Swiss-Italian and indifferent towards both teams

Maybe you can provide some insight to me: Whenever I hear something about the Polish (I know I don't know much, and I won't offend a people I know so badly, but it stands as that, whenever I do hear something about them), it's a bunch of people getting totally emotional and rather aggressive about the profane matter of football. I heard shit about the press making the Germany game to be something like a WWII rematch and drawing cartoons of Beenhakker holding the blood-dripping heads of decapitated German players. I hear about people talking about "war", "combat" and "spilling blood". I see retarded pictures like the ones in this thread calling for the assassination of a referee, and you seem to post them up suggesting that this is the most sensible reaction to a decision you disagree with in a fucking soccer game...so: Why all the hate?
The penalty kick is something you can argue about, IMO the decision is technically correct, but based on a rule that, if really enforced, would lead to about 5 penalty kicks a game. But what makes all the Polish haters look particularly stupid is that the referee gave you an OBVIOUS, nothing-to-even-think-of-arguing-about offside goal (there's proof). So you're no one to complain

Fact remains, Poland scored an offside goal, and how you can seriously tell 7even who seems to have taken the German loss and the complete failure of his forum sig hero with some moral dignity to grow some balls, while getting emotional about Poland's 1-1 draw and a questionable penalty decision, that is beyond me...

I have to comment on this Austria-Poland situation, game was 1-1 and ist pure justice. If u ask me who was better i cant say, both teams had their chances and thers a controversy arround both goals. First was offside, second WAS a penalty by the rules of UEFA (tho few referees would do that). I can speak openminded cause im not Austria or Poland fan, i just see things the way they are. This was 1-1. Polish and Austrians should be both happy.

Guys like you make this country the rest of us know so little about look as dumb in terms of sportsmanship as the stupidest of common clichés would suggest. I just completely ignore what was being said in this thread for now cause it wouldn´t lead nowhere.
I won´t even comment on the Austria-Poland game. All I say is this. This group is more interesting than it had any right to be. Everyone thought that Germany would be dominating and now they are in the position to win against Austria. It won´t be a walk in the park that´s all I can say and I, being an Austria fan, am hoping for the sensation - a win by Austria over Germay. I know we can do it.
Whatever happens, it will be a great tournament. It´s so great experiencing this atmosphere here.
