Title: T.R.O.Y.  2002
Post by: Twentytwofifty on July 25, 2002, 01:36:30 PM
From hiphopsite.com

Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth are updating the timeless “T.R.O.Y”, now re-titled “T.R.O.Y. 2002” and it will also feature the Lost Boyz. Uh hum, the Lost Boyz? Remember what we said about relying on past glories? Trouble T-Roy must be turning in his grave. Also, what the hell happened to Pete and CL’s reunion project?

I can't believe Pete Rock would do this.  This song is a timeless classic and should be left alone.  No updated version is needed, and why the hell are the Lost Boyz on it.  The only thing I can think of is a tribute to Freaky Tah.

What a fuckin' disgrace. Tryin' to revive their careers with one of hip hop's best songs ever. Mecca and the Soul Brother are ill but it's a shame that they have to do this. Lost Boyz? They fell off after their first album.

I feel TROY is the BEST hip hop song EVER.  The beat is perfect, the rhymes are perfect, and the song has that special feel.....to redo it is not the best idea, but i still think that it will sound better than most of the crap out there.  I imagine only Mr. Cheeks will be featured, and he had a couple nice joints on his album (especially "Til we meet again ft. Stephen Marley)......
