Title: Only Build 4 Cuban Linx I and II? (audio)
Post by: Efrain on June 15, 2008, 08:17:17 PM
First off, here's a new leak from Rae that's supposedly the first legitimate track from OB4CL2 called "The G Hide (Necro)" ft. Ghostface.

And in preparation for OB4CL2 I had been meaning to upload some non-album audio from OB4CL that I had. The album is such a classic every year it sounds better and better.
--Everything is ripped directly from the original CD by me unless otherwise noted--

First is the ridiculous Rainy Dayz remix produced by MrDalvin. This was originally released as a b-side on the Rainy Dayz 12" and then years later Loud re-released it on the "Bring Da Rucus" compilation CD that nobody noticed. For those who haven't heard, it's got a completely different beat, hook, lyrics AND it features Ghost.  :)

Next is "Glaciers of Ice" (12" version) also off the same compilation. Has a different intro.

Wu-Gambino (Rza's Hidden Chamber Remix)

And lastly, a cool little demo version of "Wizdom Body" that's in fairly good quality. Not ripped from CD.

That Ghost track was a version of "Wise," off the Canadian edition of Supreme Clientele, leaked during, and presumably recorded around the same time. To the best of my knowledge it was only on one J-love cd which is too bad because that Dalvin version is so smooth. They basically recreated that entire song as opposed to "Wise" which is just Ghost rapping directly over the original Dramatics master in the same fashion as "holla," "Big Girl," et al. Not sure why the Dalvin one was never released. I was under the impression it was easier to release an interpolation of a song and credit the original as opposed to getting clearance to sample an original master. Maybe Ghost had problems getting it cleared (sample) in the beginning so he went to remake it with Dalvin (interpolation), then got the green light to use the sample at the last min. But that's all speculation.

Is your copy of the song the j-love one?

I didn't see it mentioned in that thread but he did a sick remix to Jodeci's - Freek`n You ft. Rae and Ghost too.
