London, England (AHN) -- Grammy winner Amy Winehouse has been diagnosed with emphysema after collapsing at her home last Monday.
Her father, Mitch, told the Daily Mirror in an interview published Sunday that his daughter's doctors had said Winehouse would have to wear an oxygen mask if she continued to smoke drugs and cigarettes.
Winehouse reportedly has only 70 percent lung capacity. She remained in the hospital all week while doctors ran tests. The Showbiz Spy reported that Winehouse had been awake for 48 hours when she collapsed, and that her father said she slept for three days in the hospital.
Winehouse also had an irregular heartbeat which doctors treated with medication.
The singer is scheduled to perform at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday celebration Friday, and at the Glastonbury music festival the next day. Reportedly, doctors said she should be able to make both engagements

Personally, her voice is very annoying, and her music overall isn't much better. Besides that, she is just like Britney or Paris, these people are successful, but throw it all away with drugs, or other bullshit. She's supposed to be some kind of role model. She isn't that. She isn't even a professional. She shows up to her concerts all high on crack. Artists on drugs make some damn good music, but crack isn't one of those drugs. To have a "gift" or to become successful for something, and basically throw it all away, it's pathetic. And how is she a savor of music? She released one major album, and she was nowhere to be seen. A typical one hit wonder.
She's a crack whore, pure and simple. Something much more tragic happened yesterday, George Carlin died. Now that's a loss to popular culture. This is just some bitch who snorted crack one too many times.

Of course she's not a role model. I never said she was. I never claimed she was a professional either, and the idea that being unprofessional somehow degrades the quality of her music is ludicrous. And to go from comparing her to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton at the start of the paragraph to calling her a 'one-hit wonder' at the end shows how poor your argument is.
Besides, she's just won 'Record of the Year', 'Song of the Year' and 'Album of the Year' at the Grammies. She's had numerous top-10 singles and two reasonably popular albums commercially - hardly a 'one-hit wonder'. Whatever your personal feelings towards Amy Winehouse - and they must be pretty strong to actually wish death on her - I don't see why they apply here.
