Title: Judge rules on sale of Deathrow Records
Post by: wc-reppin on June 24, 2008, 05:42:06 PM
Tmz is reporting that the judge did approve the sell of Death Row Records. I am hoping this means releases from the vaults.

Tmz.com:
The judge did in fact grant the motion to sell Death Row Records. The highest qualified bidder was Global Music Group at $24 mil.

I doubt they'll release anything!!!
then whats the point of purchasing it? releasing music = profit for them and could make spending all that cash on it worth it

i REALLY hope we got some unreleased stuff 8)

The stuff that was included in the Death Row sale is nice. We are talking around 12,000 tracks probably around 2,000 actually complete/mastered/etc.  The other 10,000 is just junk. That's not considering the artist who bounced with their shit like Redrum. So, there's more material out there than what was actually sold. I hope what they've obtained out. It'd be nice to hear.

We are not goin' to see anything unreleased. There're some rights and shit, it ain't that easy to put out Soopafly's album without his approval.

Agreed, i love it when he slaps bitches, i wish he'd slap them more often these days...Lucc and Damani are probably telling him to treat them nicely these days.  But yeah, Soopafly's Death Row era tracks are the epitome of how Death Row sounded back then.

I thought the album Daz put out ("Dat Whoopty Woop") was Soopafly's Death Row album that never dropped.

It was slightly remixed by Daz.

Very slightly. The retail one is almost the same as the unreleased one.

I doubt they will release anything that is unheard...probably just getting it for the rights of owning the classics, so they get paid whenever those songs get heard.

Seriously you guys, crooked I can't even get a record deal, u think that  a company is going to pay money for his songs to release them?  hell no.  They paid for shit like nothin but a g thang, gin and juice, cali love, etc.

Your right, this deal was about the classics like "The Chronic", "Doggystyle", etc... On the other hand, now that all the music is out of the hands of Suge, it's going to be easier for the actual artists to get their hands on the music that was left behind. Hopefully they will be able to work out some deals.

As reported on TMZ.com, the former beautician and president of Global Music Group, Susan Berg is now the new owner of Death Row Records after she paid $24 million to buy the notorious record label due to a judge ruling yesterday (June 24).

Susan now owns all of Tha Row's assets, including 20 unreleased tracks that were recorded in 1996 by the late Tupac Shakur.

Marion "Suge" Knight has not made any comments on this recent court order

If you see the video on tmz.com towards the end if the video the camera guy asks her if she has any plans for the label and she responds "All kinds, all kinds" and the dude thats with her says something like "we will tell you tomorrow"

Suge has always made copies of his stuff. He has tracks of 2Pac's that neither Susan or Afeni nor the rest of the world have. If Suge don't get his shit back, something inside me tells me he might get his people to just start selling street bootlegs. Lol.
