wasn't cobb a racist?
-
musial - better human
cobb = better ballplayer (by a mile)
-
^^by a mile LMAO!! You obviously have no idea who Stan Musial is LOL, this is why I laugh at the sports section on dubcc and why I post on sportsline
-
This could be tough, I have to look into this a little. Good match-up.

ty cobb was a better hitter for average, a better base stealer, a better defensive player, better arm
only thing Stan the Man beats him in is power
ty cobb dominates him in win shares, black and gray ink and his OPS+ is MILES ahead of stans.
nigga ive forgot more baseball than you'll ever learn

Cobb>Musial...stan was great dont get me wrong, but overall cobbs got him.

Looking at fielding stats Stan>Ty. And Stan won it all 3 times while Ty lost 3 World Series in a row the only 3 times he made it.
I still voted for Ty Cobb.
I don't know much about Adjusted OPS+ but is Cobb's 167 to Musial's 159 really "miles" ahead? I know Stan had a better OPS.
-
Actually from what I read history like to overrate Ty's glove somewhat but then again look at the gloves he used. This is a good one b/c they played in two drastically different era's. This is a good one but I am partial towards Ty Cobb so I am going with him.

Cobb was centerfield, Musial was left field and 1st base when he became slower. that alone gives Cobb the advantage.
not to mention Musial was never "THE" best player in baseball (well maybe in the war years). Williams, Mantle, Mays and Berra all overshadowed him.
adjusted OPS+ = league adjusted. raw OPS is worthless in comparing players in different years.
