Ok. Obviously this is a good thing. And no, to the guys who will probably diss Shaq saying it was all pre-written i say "fuck it, it's still a good thing". No matter the reason why Shaq did it, the kid loved it, so it's still a great thing. Fuck the reasons. I do agree that ESPN is covering it, that it's all pre-written, that it's not something "natural", that there are 2-3 cameras each rooms so it means it was more like a tv special than a natural good action done by Shaq, etc.. but i'm still happy for the kid, so it's all good. That said..
1) i'm sure Shaq does a lot of those things in the real life too. I mean i'm sure he does charity, he helps the poor communities, etc..
2) that freestyle against Kobe was classless. And it gave Shaq a negative image. Exactly the opposite of the one in this video. So that's why he shouldn't have done that freestyle. Kids still love him and see him like their hero, their Kazaaaam. So he should act more mature (he's 35-36 years old..) and do more things like this one and less stupid things like the freestyle.

fake or real.....you gotta give it up for shaq, he actually interacted with the kid and genuinely shared a good time with him....as a parent and a cynic of celebrity charity, i thought that was commendable. A lot of those specials just show some dude saying "yeah" "that's cool.....so what do you want to do when you grow up?" "okay" ....but you didn't get that here.

Shaq = Good guy... kobe wouldn't do this he would be like you got a white relative I could rape or throw a towel at.

I'm not a fan of Kobe, but lets be fair. Kobe does this type of thing too and its a beautiful thing to do something like that for a child, staged or not. Imagine what that would do for you as a child if it was magic Johnson, Clyde Drexler, Michael Jordan, Isaiah Thomas, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, etc. It would be an unforgettable moment of your life that you would cherish forever. I appreciate anybody who does something like this.

Nobody said that, man. LOL. We're saying that no matter it was all pre-written and Hollywood produced, it's still a nice thing FOR THE KID.

Yea, it is nice for the kid...but people are acting like this isn't common routine. LOL. Basically, if you think this makes Shaq a nice guy, you need help.

Man it's obvious it was all pre-written and shit. I mean obviously ESPN contacted Shaq's agent to negotiate this special, they probably paid Shaq and they organized everything front to back. There was a camion following Shaq, full of tv camera's, microphones, etc.. This isn't something Shaq did out of nowhere, with just an amatorial camera filming it. So you know it's pre-written. What i'm saying is that i'm sure Shaq does "real" charities and good things too, in his life. But they don't make the front page. As a matter of fact I think a lot of NBA players helps the community. This video is only probably giving a good exposure to good things they do.
That said, i repeat myself.
Shaq is seen as an hero for a lot of kids like the one in the video. So that's the reason why that freestyle against Kobe was wrong. He should act more mature, and think about the reflections of his actions to the kids who see him as an hero.
-
^I agree with everything you just said...My only point is that this is no way to judge his character.
-
my whole point was shaq actually was enjoying the kid's presence it's not like he was just there for a paycheck.....prewritten or not, i saw shaq being shaq...and that's a 7 foot 12 year old (in a good way)

Shaq always acts like a 12 year old. Ask everybody he's ever played with.
