Title: CRYSIS
Post by: Australian Bastard on July 05, 2008, 03:56:44 AM
:boohoo:   goddamn this game laughs at my pc...

Im running it on:

directX10
Vista ultimate
2 gb of memory
intel core duo 2.4 ghz
graphics card: ATI Radeon 3470     <<< :-X  I know nothing of computers but i think i may need a better what they call 'graphics card'.

Otherwise the game is dope. Absolutely stunning, strangling gooks and shooting at colossal alien behemoths in a teeming jungle...
Believe the hype.

yeah a better graphics card would make a huge difference. increasing ram to 4gb prolly aint a bad idea either, especially on vista.

well the nvidia 8800 GT is a very very good card for performance/price ratio and ram aint that much these days. i'd imagine you could upgrade for about $250 pretty easily. might wanna wait for the 9800 GT as that's gonna be an improvment and still a very reasonably priced card. its never worth buying a high-end card cause they just aren't good value. having said that crysis has outrageous requirements - to run it comfortably at high resolutions on high or very high settings you really need one of those dual gpu graphics cards or 2 cards, which is crazy $$$.

'outrageous' is the word. but it looks so good id rather update the system than simply return the game. thanks for advice.

The Vista rating system only goes up to 5.9 (for now).

My system is:

Vista 32 bit
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (3 GHz)
3 gigs of RAM (remnants from my XP days, XP couldn't handle more than 3)
nVidia 8800 GT

(Comes to a 5.4 rating on Vista, but that rating system is really flawed.)

I can run it with "very high" graphics no problem, but the framerate suffers a bit. So I susually run it at "just" high settings.

Oh ang BigB, the spaceship scene doesn't take very long, you get back out of there.
