According to thisis50.com:
According to inside sources at Interscope Records, Busta Rhymes was allegedly recently dropped from the label. Our sources indicate that the dropping of Busta Rhymes comes just days after he had a heated argument and phone conversation over his tracks with Interscope Records President, Jimmy Iovine. We will have more information as the story develops...

In all reality what can Dre do about it?
-
If this means we won't hear any songs like "How We Do It Over Here" and "I Love My Bitch" anymore, I'm all for it.
-
overall his aftermath album wasnt that bad
-
overall his aftermath album wasnt that bad
i liked it. thought it was dope apart from 2 traks
-
why the fuck is this in the westcoast section? this thread fails
-
Its a known fact that jimmy runs aftermath whatever he says goes. He wants to have the same type of control over gunit records that's why you see the 50 and jimmy relationship coming to a nasty end.
-

-
WTF??? I can't belive it! FUCK Jimmy Iovine!!! FUCKING ************* ************** ******************* !!!!!!!
-
In case niggas don't know

Exactly, like, 'I Love My Bitch' and 'I'll Do It All'.
-
WOW. Long as "Blessed" still drops this year, I could care less.
-
It's not even an issue of Dre being Jimmy's bitch. Two or three years ago, Dre sold a large portion of Aftermath to Jimmy. Look it up. Jimmy and Interscope bought about half of Dre's ownership in the company so Jimmy can drop and fire artists as he pleases. Don't know how accurate the rumors are about Busta but you can't expect to cross Jimmy Iovine and not have reprecussions behind it.
-
nah this isnt true. Wack azz Bishop lamont is in the new Busta ft Linkin Park video

I'm thinking that if anything, it's like a Game move and Busta probably got moved to Geffen or some shit...

That's true. Interscope owns 80% of Aftermath and Dre owns the other 20%.

Dre gots to be the worst nigga at picking business partners. Suge,Eazy,Jimmy he just interested in making music and he aint bout his business.
Imagine if the nigga had a business mind how much money he could have made.

most these cats are small minded, Dre should be running shit like iovine, but he settled with what he got. Not a big problem but you should never settle for something when you can do it bigger. Thats the problem with most of the world though.

Why give the jimmy all your money after all you been through in the industry. Shit give it back to compton or the hood in general if you didn't want it.

Dre has -
a) enough money already, and
b) wants to spend his time in the studio, not doing labelly business type of shit with paperwork and meetings and budgets and promotion and etc etc etc...
He takes long enough making beats without having to handle all the other shit, so that's why Jimmy is there and that's why he's getting paid, he's the boss, the business man, the dude who's put everything together with Interscope, and he's made some very good decisions over the years, he's got like several of the biggest names in HipHop ever at the label and HipHop's most bankable producer

What dope records?
I mean some of them is cool, but thanx to Jimmy there's always a couple of corny cuts.
Thanx to Jimmy there's no Hittman and Joell Ortiz etc.
I take Hittman and Joell Ortiz over any Em and 50 album any day. ;)
I guess that's just me :-\
Well just like you stated your opinion i too must clarify, my statement was not objective, more so subjective!
Dre has dropped doe Records IMO for acts such 50, right down to HITTMAN imo
GRODT had a few Notable hit records, likewise em's albums!
Though i do share your annoyance regarding the HITTMAN & Joel Ortiz issue... :-\ :-\ :-\
-
wat a joke
-
Labels fucked up these days.

That's true, but couldn't he have hired someone to deal with the business side of things? That way he could have still retained ownership of the label.
