Sinatra flexing his "G" status.
FYI, J. Edgar Hoover & FBI had compiled over 2,500 pages of surveillance documents on Sinatra's alleged mafia connections to notorious figures like Lucky Luciano, Sam Giancana, Carlo Gambino and dozens of others.
Peep the pic of Frank posing with real life gangsters from the notorious Gambino Crime Family.

Yeah, the great Dino Crocetti aka Dean Martin was a "G" too. The FBI had some surveillance docs on his mafia connections as well, but he was way more low key than Sinatra.
Point blank, The Rat Pack (Sinatra, Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Joey Bishop, Peter Lawford) were well protected by the mafia everywhere they went. The ol' favor for a favor sorta thing. Hell even President's Nixon, John F. Kennedy were friends with these cats and their mafia associates. The mafia had a hand in everything back in those days.
If you want to get a comedic point of view of Sinatra's alleged mafia connections, look up Don Rickles on youtube. He was a good friend of Sinatra on & off the stage and was the only entertainer of that era that could get away with making fun of Sinatra and his mafia connections publicly without any retribution. Rickles has some funny stories about Sinatra, yet it also hints at how respected & powerful Sinatra was within the industry. These vids, while funny, shows that Sinatra truly was a "G".

Rickles is 82 and still selling out shows in Vegas to this day. If you get a chance, peep the new documentary on HBO called "Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project". You can also see clips of this movie on youtube as well. But yeah, Rickles is one-of-a-kind with the rippers.
Sinatra & Martin invented swag before it was called swag. Not to mention, they did it all and did it well; singing, dancing, acting, etc. You can't find too many well rounded entertainers in this day and age like them guys. Nowadays people either suck @ acting but are great singers or vice versa. But them guys were great @ both.

I've always liked Dean Martin more than Sinatra, music wise anyway.

That's always a debate among Rat Pack fans. Some people preferred Sammy Davis, Jr., others Dean, and still others Frank. Myself, I like them all about equally because they mesh well as a group, but also sound great solo too. Pure talent in that whole group.

Don't forget Sammy Davis...he was the shit, possibly the most overall talented of the 3.

That pic is sick, Carlo Gambino and Paul Castellano :o :o

Can't remember which biography it was from, but it was summed up that Sinatra was the brains, Martin was the heart & Davis was the soul of the Rat Pack.

^ I believe that was the Sinatra biography by Kitty Kelly. Good book, except the author has an obvious bias against Sinatra because he didn't participate in it. It's probably the deepest and most informed one on him though.
Can someone auto play "Fly me to the moon" for this thread?
