Cobb was a drunken racist.  Lou Gehrig had a disease named after him.

Lou Gehrig, who was the best player on his Yankee teams, but some hot dog eating drunk got his shine.

with Mays, Mantel, Ruth and Bonds in the other polls, this one is highly over looked.
