Knicks Reject Clippers' Offer For Randolph
After losing Elton Brand to Philadelphia, the Clippers called the Knicks seeking a deal to acquire Zach Randolph.
Sports Illustrated reports that the Knicks are unwilling to trade the offensively gifted Randolph for what would amount to a salary dump of the final three years of his contract. The Clippers' proposal would not provide comparable return on talent.
The thinking could be that new head coach Mike D'Antoni will rejuvenate the Knicks while elevating Randolph's game and therefore his trade value.
The Clippers can also pursue Josh Smith and Emeka Okafor to fill their vacant power forward slot, but both are restricted free-agents whose respective teams can match any offer.
LOL So now they have so many viably offers on the table for Z-Bo that they can just reject offers they don't deem as fair value? they DON'T want to dump his salary? He thinks NY is going to get fair value for him from somebody? Excuse me sir, did you see what Portland got for him after he played the best season of his career? We got Steve Francis and paid him 30 million to leave, and a nice backup PF in Frye for a 25 and 10 guy. How the hell does he actually expect his value to get higher when D'Antoni takes over? He is a half court grind it out player, how is he supposed to raise his value in an uptempo system? Is Walsh any better than Zeke or is he just as dumb or actually dumber?

Walsh is a million times better than Zeke but he shouldnt of taken this job.

NY is simply not the type of team that cares about dumping salary. Offer that shit to Memphis and they throw a party. Doesn't make Chris Wallace better than Walsh, does it?
-
^Memphis has a bright future, so we can't really diss Chris Wallace.
I think the Clippers offered both Mobley and Tim Thomas...Walsh wanted Eric Gordon included, though. LMAO

If they want a shot at James iin '10 then they have to dump salary. Aside from that, they've been wanting to dump Randolph almost since they got him. You cant be picky or demand too much for a guy who has negative trade value.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Apparently the Clippers offer for Randolph was a 2nd round pick and nothing more!!!
"There will be change with the [Knick] roster, that much is certain," reports Alan Hahn. However, Knicks' president Donnie Walsh is in no hurry.
"Walsh already proved he will work at his own pace when he turned down an offer from the Los Angeles Clippers for Zach Randolph, whom Walsh had been shopping for a while," the Newsday story continues. "The Clippers reportedly offered a second-round pick for Randolph, but Walsh believes he can get a better offer."
Such a deal would amount to a salary dump that helps the Knicks advance their plan of clearing substantial salary cap room in 2010.
The New York Times reports that the Knicks are virtually certain to part ways with Stephon Marbury before the season begins and are also determined, to a lesser extent, to move Randolph.

^Holy shit. I feel sorry for his family.

Okay...Randolph is garbage, but he's worth more than a 2nd round pick. LOL.
