Lakers Make Garbajosa and offer. (http://www.marca.com/edicion/marca/baloncesto/nba/es/desarrollo/1144924.html)

Jorge Garbajosa has open doors to initiate a second adventure in the NBA. He would return to the best league in the world on a red carpet, like the one in Hollywood. Precisely, the team that is closet to the Mecca of Movies is the one with the most interest in him. The MARCA newspaper reports that the Los Angeles Lakers, of his friend Pau Gasol, have made Garbajosa an offer.
José Luis Martínez y Nacho Duque report that Garbajosa would have to negotiate his contract as a free agent. He may be a spare part with Lamar Odom or Vladimir Radmanovic, but both are surrounded with trade rumors. San Antonio also has shown interest in Garbajosa.
This would be a nice fill-in for Turiaf. 8)

aint he still injured or fucked up or some shit

JORGE GARBAGE-OSA.
LAKERS ARE GONNA CHOKE AGAIN IN 08-09.
-
not bad , but at what cost? i don't want to get rid of Odom or rad man for him necessarily
-
lol he ain't no replacement for Turiaf; he's a good defender but certainly doesn't play with the intensity level of a big man and sure as hell can't rebound (not saying Turiaf could).
Plus his knee is fucked up; his career is done already.

charity?

Dear God please no.

It would be a minimum contract, calm down, ya'll...Garbajosa is not bad. He's healed from his injury and had some big games as a rookie for Toronto. He'd get limited minutes, either way.

But you to gotta admit, healthy, he is not a BAD player...8.5 ppgs, 5 rpg, 2 apg, 1.2 spg is not bad for a rookie. I'd rather have Garbajosa for 1.2 mill than Turiaf for 17 mill.

not TOO bad, eh?

<- big fan of Jorge since 2000.
LOL He's been around for years, guys! I still remember him when he was like 23 years old and he signed a contract with Italian team Benetton Treviso, one of the best teams in Europe at the time. He's a player with a lot of experience, who can teach our young guys how to stay on the floor. I mean he's been around for so many years at high levels, it's crazy. He has seen everything, playing in Euroleague, playing with Spain in the World Cup Tournament (he scored 20 points in the final..), in the European Cup Tournament.. he was been an All-NBA 1st team Rookie.. so he knows how to stay on the floor and how to handle the pressure, expecially when it gets hot. He was always been a good player. A PF who loves to shoot from 3pts and who can block shots on defence. But the thing maybe people don't know about him is that he's a natural born leader. He's basically the leader of the Spanish National team, he's seen as an hero by his teammates (including Pau Gasol) and when Jorge speaks, everybody listen to him. Just watch the World Cup final, just watch how teammates rely on him after Pau gets injured. Watch how he emotionally dominates the game. He's "that" type of player. I'm sure if he signs for the Lakers he will help Pau a lot on and off the floor, so why not. I dunno if he's 100% healed to play, but if we sign him with the minimum, he'll still help Pau, so i'm down for it. No doubt.
