Here's how they'e faired in summer leage so far...
Joe Crawford-
PPG: 11 (50% FG, 60% 3FG, 82% FT)
RPG: 3
APG: 1.5
MPG: 21
Coby Karl-
PPG: 15.5 (37% FG, 38% 3FG, 85% FT)
RPG: 2.8
APG: 2.0
MPG: 30
I like both...Crawford is a more athletic scorer with nice explosiveness. Coby Karl is the better facilitator and has the better shot. I think we're gunna end up going with Karl, considering he's already got the experience. But Crawford is definitely a 2nd round steal, I hope no other team scoops him up in the mean time.
PG Derek Fisher...Jordan Farmar/Sun Yue(?)
SG Kobe Bryant...Sasha Vujacic(?)/Coby Karl(?)-Joe Crawford(?)
SF Lamar Odom...Trevor Ariza/Luke Walton
PF Pau Gasol...Vladimir Radmanovic/Jorge Garbajosa(?)-Kurt Thomas(?)
C Andrew Bynum...Chris Mihm/Kwame Brown(?)-DJ Mbenga(?)
we've still got some moves to make.

i liked Karl's game against Mayo too much to pick crawford over him. but i hope the lakers do something with him to retain his rights. D-league perhaps?

Naah, we have to offer him a contract.
-
We have enough young talent. We need a veteran.
-
I seriously don't either is going to make a difference on the team.

You never know...I really think Karl is more talented than Luke. If Luke doesn't get himself back together, Karl is a very similar type of player with a better shot and defense.
-
Sorry let me understand it: are we offering Kwame Brown and Kurt Thomas a contract or is it just you dreaming about it?
Cause i'd love to see them both in L.A., to be honest.
-
I think I like Crawford better. You cant teach athletisism. He'd bring some nice energy off the bench. Plus, I think his upside is higher then Karl.

we've been rumored to have interest in both.

kurt thomas would bring toughness but this would be a win NOW movie cuz of his age.
with Brown, we know what we would get however he knows the system and he knows the players already. so i don't know it could work out if he played a minimal role with the team.

Don't forget, if we acquired Kwame, he'd be our best 1-on-1 defender in the post.

yeah that's true. my only concern is that he's an offensive liability.
but i guess you could put him in as a 4 and have
C- Gasol
PF-Brown
SF- Odom
Sg-Kobe
PG-Fish/Farmar

Coby Karl
Joe Crawford needs to pay his dues....

If Gasol and Kwame were both in the line-up, Kwame would be the 5...

Shit, let's pull the trigger then!

The Lakers should just sign Darius Miles so he can fulfill his dream of completely blowing his knee out for life.

on offense though? the triangle +big man= needing hands...something gasol has y kwame doesn't though.

Both ways, homie...the thing is, Kwame doesn't have much of a mid-range shot, he can mainly finish with dunks, while Gasol has more of a mid-range, face-up, AND back to the basket game. It was already obvious that Kwame couldn't play power forward in the triangle when we first experimented with it.

Kwame can only play as a defensive specialist for us. As a center.
