Hi, what's up everybody? I would like to pay tribute for a minute to a legend of New Jack Swing : Johnny Gill, his self-titled album is a classic, by the way almost every song where he is on it is a banger! Too many good song to name them all, Rub You The Right Way, My My My, Lady Dujour, Your Body...
Let A PLaya Get His Freak On with Levert, Sweat and Jazzy Phae (or something like that) is also the dopeness!
I guess that the answers will show who grew up in the 90's and is damn proud of that!
-
He had nice joints as a solo artist but also his shit wit LSG, they 1st album was good AND that album he did wit Stacy Lattisaw 'Perfect Combination' is classic! The track 'Falling in Love Again' is a fuckin' classic regardless what anybody say.
-
Who remembers his collabo with Shabba Ranks? Slow N Sexy? Early-90s music at its finest lol.
-
U know I'm down with Johnny Gill.
-
That saxophone in My My My makes that song even more than what it is.
-
yall do know that him & eddie murphy are on the down low, right? all that aside, yeah, sum of his solo joints and songs wit NE were the shit back in the day
-

The "official" story is that Johnny Gill became a broke bum some years back and Eddie Murphy let him stay in his house ever since. lol

Really? Shit that's bad, but I guess that now he is making paper again given that I heard that he is on a New Jack Swing tour or some stuff. Some rappers should really holla at him!
Anyway I cannot get bored of listening Let A Playa Get His Freak On by LSG!

Yeah, Johnny and Roger was a deadly combo! They made another song together that I had for a while but I can't find it anymore... Too bad that was a dope song!
