"Based on true story" is a a personal classic to me.. Sooo many heaters on that album. I wasnt feelin the recipe. It felt like a complaition. Bang or Ball was banging too lots of dope production on there. Hustlers Handbook was off the chain too.."The Testimoney" Was soo dope.

My pick is Based on a True Story, a classic album in my books (because of the flawless production. Plus Mack 10 did a good job on the mic).

Yup, I agree. Lyrically, Mack was hungriest on the debut, but BASED ON A TRUE STORY had some interesting and creative production that gave it a cool "summertime" feel. Both of those CDs are classics, IMHO.

But I don't know--after that, the rest of Mack's CDs (THE RECIPE, PAPER ROUTE, BANG OR BALL, etc.), for me anyway, fall into the "dope enough not to be wack, but still too inconsistent to be called classics" category. I play them, and I like many of the songs on them, but it just sounded like Mack was trying to be all things to all people by, you know, doing enough songs to satisfy his hardcore base, but also catering to the tastes of the time (i.e., the Cash Money collabs). Just my view, though.

PEACE!

GREAT albums:
Based on a true story > Mack 10 > Hustla's Handbook

average:

The Recipe > Bang Or Ball > Paper Route

those six in order for me

Based on a true story is a personal classic.

Yeah Big Baller is excellent. Him and his homies RED CAFE and GLASSES MALONE are heavy on the song. Street Shit is heavy too. Two extracts of Soft White are excellent. I'm feeling his album could be one of best albums in 2008 without problem.
