After reading that Lil Wayne may be featured on the much anticipated DETOX (no comments lmao), I decided to make this thread so that everyone can express their opinion about this man. or to some of us this monkey.

Sometimes he sounds as if he got sand stuck down his throat
He has a lot of toxins in his body (i guess its clear what i mean by that)

I hate Lil Wayne because of his music. Simply as that.
I don't need to talk about how he dress, how he talk, how he act. Since he is not capable to drop a consistent CD and brags about being the best rapper alive when people of his generation like Game, Kanye, Jeezy or Lupe drop classics, he is simply wack to me.
Fuck him.

He's like a lot of rappers - the odd moment of brilliance, lots of average performances and some awful ideas as well. He's the kind of rapper a lot of people hate automatically because the 'stans' insist on praising him automatically. As I've said several times, he's neither as good or as bad as the respective camps make out. But 'Tha Carter III' was genuinely a pretty good album.
If anyone could coax a classic perfomance out of him, it would be Dre. He doesn't need Wayne on Detox to help it sell: if he really has decided to put him on there, it's because the two of them together have cooked up something special.

I donīt really liked Weezy before "The Carter III" but his last album change my whole view on dude. "Tie My Hands" and "Mr. Carter" are two of my fav tracks this year, I also totally feel "Shoot Me Down", "3 Peat", "Dr. Carter" and "Let The Beat Build". I know his voice and flow can be really annoying sometimes but overall he is a dope rapper, especially from the lyrical point of view. Of course this whole "Best Rapper Alive" jabbering is bullshit, but heīs definitely a dope rapper. I do not know if I really want to hear him on "Detox" though

Game & Kanye. Carter1/2/3 are not on the same level as Documentary/Doctor's Advocate/College Dropout/Late Registration/Graduation.

I can take Lupe, Jeezy, T.I. (Trap Muzik/King) or Young Buck's Straight Outta Cashville too ...
Lil Wayne is just about swag and image, he got no lyrics, 80 % of his beats are just mid-quality beats. Maybe he can do a good album, but he need someone to executive produce that, it's obvious that he don't have the shoulders to do that himself.

1. i want you to name 3 albums where there was NO filler.
2. the Carter III is one of the best structured albums to drop in '08 (and this is coming from someone who preferred Get It How You Live, It's All On U Vol. 1 & 2 era Wayne)
3. Wayne has 2 good albums, 3 average albums and 1 bad album (500 Degreez).

I used to love him in his C2 days... he had mad flow, crazy delivery, and hot lyrics. Not top 10 quality, but he was a GOOD emcee.
Nowadays, his shit is disgusting. And I mean that in the bad way.. he sounds retarded when he raps, like he doesn't care at all about the final product. No effort in his spit, no effort in his lyrics...

you can't deny he's a good lyricist. I downloaded his whole discography and would sometimes bust out laffing at how clever some of his lines were, the guy is definitly a hard worker and theres no doubt in my mind that he is always in a studio doing what he loves. thats the reason I bought the carter III.
The way he works, by the time he dies he's is gonna have so many fucking songs recorded its mind boggling.

I like some of his material, because he is so weird and out there that is a nice change from 99% of rappers flow. Unfortunately he has become a trendsetter and now everyone copies him, so it's not too original sounding.
I dislike him, because while refreshing he does come off as a lazy crackhead, and i can't get into a lot of his production or have the patience for a full song. That being said I think he is great as a guest rapper.

His voice is incredibly annoying as is pretty difficult to understand at times, his beats aren't to my taste and he seems incapable of putting together a consistent album. He's nowhere near being the best that hiphop has to offer right now and it is sad to see him being put forward as such by the mass media.

he got sick on carter II. his metaphors were a bit more on point.
they were a lot harder on this album. his flow was more understandable and clean.
but it wasn't that different or anything to write home about yet.

this is when i started digging his shit.

ur right about the tracks that were left off the album. but i mean he would not have sold with them on. people wouldnt buy an album filled with songs that have all been out for months. i mean dude did sell 2 million, regardless of the content, so hes doing something right. i would imagine his next album will be called "Tha Carter IV", and i have a feeling it is going to be a similar album, concidering C3 did so well.
