The only difference is that Ledger died and we'll never know how big he could have gotten.
-
Totally agree, i still cant believe how good his performance was, i was watching 10 Things I hate About You earlier, and i couldnt believe that he played the Joker, i really hope when this hits DVD theres a special edition with behind the scenes footage of the filming of it, i'd love to see what it was like in between the filming of scenes (if you get what i mean)

lol check it out, he was caught skating

He definitely would of been one of the greats. He had all the potential in the world.
-
Without a doubt he wouldve been one of the greats. It was insane how he was able to pull this role off. I like how he prepared for the movie too, reading some of the comics, keeping a 'joker journal', and being isolated in a hotel room for 6 weeks.

Heath Ledger= This generation James Dean?
-
Word. We lost a magnificent Aussie and great actor.....
Yall should check out the movie Ned Kelly, Heath plays the infamous OG outlaw...

oh yeah, him as Joker completely proved that.
-
i heard that he did a great job in brokeback mountain as well. straight or gay, it doesn't matter i heard he perfected a texas accent.
-
The sad and ironic thing is that from what I have read he was forced into acting, never wanted to be an actor and would harm himself viciously in his early days as an actor. I haven't seen this film yet but given the above, it seems somehow very disrespectful to release the film with him in it.

Where did you read that? And that's just corny, "very disrespectl to release the film with him in it"

I heard the same thing, but i wont be watching that movie anytime soon ;)

It was in one of the english papers the Daily Mail about a month ago. I don't think it's corny to say that, if it was acting that led to his obvious deep depression and unhappiness, then to release the film with him in it doesn't seem right. If you want to describe that opinion as corny then knock yourself out.
-
So which is it that lead to his depression? Being forced into acting (which is not true), acting itself, or his role as the Joker(which he had a blast playing, as quoted in intereviews)?
-
My bad, he was not forced into acting but he couldn't handle acting as a profession because of what it brought with it

I guess that was only part of it because it also talks about terrible sleeping problems he was experiencing months before he committed suicide, so all in all one extremely unhappy individual beneath the exterior.
-
A lot of actors hate the other attention the profession brings. He would have been depressed anyway, acting or not.
-
LOL@"very disrespectful"

The guy was skateboarding on set and having a good time, so I don't think the part made him THAT miserable.

Its a shame, of course it sucks we lost a bright individual, but now he ain't around to reprise the role of the Joker and if yall niggaz know Batman the Joker is the central villain, who always has a hand in it all somehow...I hope some actor wil be able to step-up to that mantel and do it well...

did i miss something? was it ruled a suicide?..last i heard it was thought to be an accidental overdose...
-
^it was accidental overdose, no suicide.
-
accidental.
