Really not that kind of beat you expecting from G. Dub but I like it after a few spins. Nothing special though. Warren came nice and Ray really kills the hook. Overall a nice track, but not as good as "Mr President" and that ringtone track IMO. Still can´´t wait on the album, even if I have the feeling I will be disappointed :-\

For A New Artist, trying to break into the scene, they are advised to create music that is relevant to what is 'HOT' RIGHT NOW..
But for a season Vet Like Warren G, i don't he has to live by those rules, but rather deliver music that is fresh and unique!
Just my two cents!
but who knows the next couple of tracks on his Album may be reminiscent of his Signature style...

lol... absolutely not. "Joysticc" is a '80s soundin track, this one is a typical modern "for the ladies"-track. I gotta say both are dope though.
-
when is the album due ?

props

seriously eh

The last thing i really felt warren g as a solo artist was return of the regulator g-funk is here to stay was like the last good song he had on an album and then it went downhill for the regulator all the other new stuff is alright but it doesnt have a westcoast feel no more.

yeah although he'd already went downhill long before. But Young Locs Slow down is dope too from Return of the Regulator.

Return of the regulator is classic in my book.
In the mid-nite hour was nice. I mean, it sounds good, it's good music, but it's not g funk anymore - so when I bump that album I gotta admit it's dope, but there nothing in me that makes me wanna bump it again at a later date. I gotta force myself into that.
And what he's been dropping after that... well, let's say it falls in the same category. I'll still buy the new album tho, he's my favourite artist, for good times sake.

I like the Song 8)

After reading this thread, I must say I am very surprised. It's sad because it seems like the everyone who doesn't like the new Warren tracks is on the following common consensus': "it doesn't sound like usual warren", "it doesn't sound g-funk", "it's not old school warren", "sounds like a common new-age hit". For fucks sake people, learn to take in a breath of fresh air. An artist that has been rapping since the early nineties can only do so much of the same thing for so long. I believe that there is such a high expectation for an artist to carry on the same sound that they have been using for years, that when there is the slightest variation, everyone starts shaking their heads and crossing their arms. It really is quite pathetic. Let's use an analogy here. If you were flipping hamburgers since 1993, wouldn't you want to go out and try new things? Repetitiveness is a funny thing. Over time you get extremely good at what you do, and you usually like doing it, but after a while, you'll eventually (and hopefully) want to venture out and try new things. Let's say a new guy comes in town and everyone starts to feel that. For the sake of this analogy: Roscoes Chicken & Waffles. Flippin' burgers is starting to sound less and less appealing. It's common human nature to try and better ones self, regardless of acceptance or ridicule. In the sense of Warren G, why not try a new R&B track with an up and coming star. The beat is catchy and Warren's rap is on point. What more could you ask for?....
So the point of this post is this: listen to this track for what it is. Without any expectations or hype. This is a veteran rapper venturing into new concepts and doing a good job at it. Case closed.

^Arguably So!
In order to stay relevant, one must change to adopt to what is popular right now
Which Warren is trying to do!
Kudos to Him for doing that!
But I feel, Warren G Could have done a lot more better, he is Known for That!
conform to what is popular to stay fresh and earn money, Yes, But that should not be at the expense of Musical prowess..Now should it??
Which is the reason why i wasn't feeling the track upon 1st listen!

Ok Ok respects for g-dubb i wasnt feeling ringtone and virgin but this shit is coo
Ok let me retract my statement above im not feeling this shit at all warren g has really fell the fuck off man way hard he fell the fuck off all the shit i have heard and he still has the odasity to put og lb on the shit like its gangster please man i think warren is just an old cat that forgot how to make beats man. I heard bishop say that dre was gonna be working with warren shit if there put shit like this out and shit like grow up out and have guest stars like r kelly and jay z nas lil wayne etc then i really dont want to hear dre im not dont gonna say the D word im just gonna say dre.

And i saw this i feel what your saying its just that this new warren g its not the stuff that i like. Shit if your the best burger flipper and people like what your doing and you like what your doing then why fuck with the winning formula.

nice song but Warren G is kind of boring on this.

well i wouldn't say trying to keep up is the only option ;)
trying to be one step ahead or re-innovate himself is also a possibility
