Not to be pesemistic or anythin, but we all know why it did. Look at Let's Ride, 1 Blood...they were 10x better than My Life, and they weren't even close to 21. It's such a fuckin joke how you NEED Lil Wayne to break the top 50. Even Dope Boys and Game's Pain were better IMO, and look where they ended up. First it was Usher, then Akon, now Lil Wayne. Based on two listens:
1. Intro - dope
2. LAX files - great stuff
3. State Of Emergency - my shit. Ice Cube is excellent on the chorus, but he should have had a verse as well.
4. Bulletproof Diaries - Another hot joint.
5. My Life - Didn't like it at first, like it a lot now.
6. Money - this is great too.
As with all Game albums it starts off flawlessly. ..and just like The Doctors Advocate, it has a sequence of fairly weak songs at the middle:
7. Cali Sunshine - not really my cup of tea
8. Ya Heard - innovative shit, but it doesn't work for me. Weakest track on the album for me.
9. House Of Pain - hard beat, but again it doesn't do much for me.
10. Gentleman's Affair - Not really my style either. I HATE Ne-Yo.
Then it gets better again, just like TDA:
11. Let Us Live - love the Nas style. Good stuff, if not one of the best tracks on the album.
12. Touchdown - pretty cool track
13. Angel - Excellent soft track. Should probably be a single.
14. Never Can Say Goodbye - Good stuff, love the flow imitations, especially of Biggie.
15. Dope Boys - One of my favourites, a bangin' track.
16. Game's Pain - pretty good, but not really my style.
17. Letter To The King - Nas/Game colabs are usually great. This is pretty good, but not up there with "Why You Hate The Game".
Overall: An excellent album with a weak middle part. To me, he should have cut out those four tracks and included Superman, 911 Is A Joke and Big Dreams. Then it would have been an AMAZING album.
But still - you can't go wrong with a Game album. There are LOADS of hot tracks here and plenty of replay value.

As Meho said, the sound on this album is all over the place. I'm happy with what I got, but in my personal opinion its still not touching The Documentary or DA, but most of his fans will probably think different. For instance, "Letter to the King" is a very good song but it cant fuck with "Why You Hate The Game" (Edit: Bumpin "Why You Hate The Game" now and it's shitting on "Letter to the King"). It's things like that which makes the difference. It's on a very high level musically, just not as high as his previous efforts. And some songs have good production but other things that mess them up. Like "Let us Live" has a dope beat with a lot of potential, but Chrisette Michelle fucked up the hook imo. Same with Latoiyas hook. I was expecting a lot from her appearance but she keeps saying the same thing over and over ("Never can say goodbye"). Game killed it on the verses though. Bottom line, very good album and probably in my Top 3 of 2008. His previousy work was probably just too good.

After a couple of listens I have to say the overall production on this album is very weak if you compare it with his last two solos .. a lot of uninspired hooks too... his first two lps were VERY consistent but this one sounds like a cheap compilation .. what a dissapointment ..I agree 100%

Game has dropped many Westcoast souding songs, hell, DA whole cd was very westcoast sounding. Weve heard game talk about Gang banging, Low Lows, 64s, Chronic Smoke and all that the definds the west cost. Hes been there and done that. Yah man, no doubt. Here is my 2nd review for the album, ive bumped it about 5-6 times now in dirty explicit and it sounds wayyyyy better. These scores will probably stay the same for awhile, but maybe in a few months some other songs will grow on me more aswell!!!

I'm feeling the bonus tracks. So glad, they put Big Dreams on it. I don't know why there's so much hate on this track... I had it on repeat since it dropped in March. it was a great buzz single. It's the "One Blood" of this record.
THE ONLY song I'm not feeling this much is "HOUSE OF PAIN"... I was never a fan of those type of beats. Altough the chorus is sick.

I finally got my copy today and after the first three spins I just can say: :o Love the record, no filler-track, universal sounds (no track sounds the same), some amazing joints like "Angel" (Damn I knew this song would be on some classic shit when I first read about this Game/Common collabo on a Kanye beat) and Letter To The King (just WOW). Itīs a lil bit to early for a review or even to say if this album is better than Gameīs first two records. But itīs seems like this could be the Hip-Hop album of the year. Game is definitely in his prime now.
