I was diggin' deeper and deeper into that underground and 80's shit...but those two fire hot albums by Cube and Daz got me back into this millenium. Big ups to these guys....except for Snoop...ego trippin blew big time ass.

I can understand if you didn't like "Ego Trippin" (it wasn't for everyone, that's for sure), but how can you like that new Daz album? That was garbage! (imo) lol.

^lol me myself, I don't expect much from Daz solo's anymore since he puts out so many; but it somewhat surprised me. no better than a 6.5/10, but had some surprisingly good tracks like regretz and thiz how we live

Yah man, real talk, we only get like 10 albums a year maxx from the westcoast, the rest of these cats just put out stupid little mixtapes to keep there names relevent. Mixtapes dont mean shit though, you can only put out so many before its time to put out ur debut fuckin album. The South and East >>> West when it comes to dropping albums!!!

It's kind of just more of the same. Look back at 2006. You had E-40, Snoop, The Game, Cube, 2Pac, Tha Dogg Pound, Xzibit, Too Short, all put out albums. The West was actually looking promising but it doesn't change the end result. When compared, things are actually worse. Snoop and Game have less WC involvement with their albums, two years later. The same artists that we were waiting on back then still have not come out. Game's talking about retiring but who are the artists he's pushing to release or co-sign to come up after him? Outside of Dre putting out Bishop Lamont, how many new artists look like they're gonna be put on? Snoop and Cube are established. They'll do units whether the West is hot or not. Ras Kass, Jayo Felony, Crooked I, Yukmouth. They either got CD's with no distribution or no fucking solid release dates. It's not about who's putting out albums. It's about who is getting the guest features. Who's in demand.

Yeah Daz's album wasn't all that but it was def better than his previous two which is what I like to see...Squeeze was so bangin' and is what the new west should sound like. Snoop continues to release shit for some reason when everyone knows that he should have stopped after one or two failures after Dre's album Doggystyle.

Ya, "Only On The Left Side" was better then any other recent Daz albums, Squeeze is KNOCKING and This Is How We Do It and a few others!!!

I see what you're saying Lunatic63 but it's more of the same ol' same ol' really, just a different year. Paris has always done shit his way for years, so he's always been consistent with releasing product whenever he wants to. Snoop, Game, Cube are the usual suspects, so nothing new there as well. Daz is a lot like Paris in getting releases out whenever he wants to. So all in all, it's still the same people doing it when you expect them to.
Dubb Union is the exception in this case, thanks (or no thanks) to Snoop, but where's the marketing for this album? Either way though, I'll check it out.
While I have no problems with the same people releasing shit on a regular basis, I'm more looking forward to hearing the new cats (Dubb Union included) release their albums. It's a damn shame that no one from the so-called "New West" has been able to release an album at this point. I'm willing to spend $$ on some of these dudes albums like Bishop, Malone, Crooked I, Jay Rock, Ya Boy, Clyde Carson, etc. but nobody is stepping up to the plate to release their shit. Mixtapes are cool, but c'mon already, is it really that hard? I realize the industry is fucked up and perhaps biased against the so-called "New West" breed, but there are other avenues to take instead of waiting for major labels to come to you. The West Coast needs to revert back to that 80's - 90's mentality of hustling out their music to the streets and forget about trying to please the radio crowd and just focus on putting out quality music that reflects the artist.
I'm also looking forward to hearing a new Knoc-turn'al album too, but he seems to be in the same boat that these "New West" artists are in at the moment. Ras Kass too, even though he's locked up at the moment, but I hope he don't wait another 3 years before he drops an album once he gets released from jail? :laugh:
Last but not least, someone need to holla @ Sly Boogy too and tell that nigga to get back on his grind and release an album already. Jayo Felony too.

some of these artists are getting fucked though when they land a deal or maybe just daz and hot dollar first daz i mean who diddnt like so so gangsta? that shit was alright exept for a couple of tracks he was on so so def one of the most annoying labels based in the south pushing all that lean with it shit and daz actually put out a descent album with them and IT FLOPPED!! i mean i only saw his video once like at 11 on a sunday n shit you know what i mean no push from JD at all than he has the nerve to drop daz. and hot dollar he had that streetz on lock track and that shit was out there but i dont remember anyone talking about his album besides that song and its remix and that was probably only a hit cause it had that whole south feel to it. for the most part any artist from the west that does come out and has a chance to do something the label doesnt back there efforts even veterans like daz.

Don't forget about Clyde Carson's album California State Of Mind...if promoted properly I really think Clyde could blow up! I know when "Doin That" first dropped I told some friends and people I knew to check it out and they all thought it was a hot song
