alright so my friends and I are having a fantasy league and the draft was yesterday. The Winner gets 1200 dollars which is pretty sick but i was the 8th pick in the draft. So heres my team tell me what you think about it.
QB - Tony Romo, Matt Schaub, Brodie Croyle(bench)
RB - Clinton Portis, Lawrence Maroney, Thomas Jones (Bench), Darren Sproles (Bench)
WR - Plexico Burress, Wes Welker, Chris Chambers, Dwayne Bowe (bench) Devon Hester (bench)
TE - Todd Heap, D.Lee (Bench)
D - San Diego Chargers
K - Akers
-
What sport is this for?
-
Burress is hurt right now.. and Welker was a good choice. He was a steal for me last season.
-
I don't think Welker will re-live what he did last year.

What sport is this for?

Your RB's are kind of weak (most of em were after the first 4 or so anyways). But i like your WR's. I had the 9th pick in my draft and ended up with Romo. You should drop your 3rd QB and pick up another defense. The chances of you ever using a 3rd QB is pretty slim. But if the Chargers have an unfavorable matchup for their D (especially with no Merriman) you could start a different D for that week.

u haven't told us the starting positions or how many teams there are in the league.
this very well could be a 2 QB league.

true, didnt think of that.

BN Nate Burleson, BN Bobby Engram
TE Antonio Gates
W/R LenDale White
K David Akers

Bobby Engram and Kevin Curtis are injured. It would be nice to hold on to em until they get back, maybe a month. But I might have to drop at least one of em. Maybe pick up a second TE.

^ decent team. u got a lot of potential with ur WRs and RBs. plus, can't go wrong with Romo and Gates.
I actually drafted Engram in a 10 team league (PPR and start 4 WR), and got screwed, so I'm starting Toomer as my 4th.

Yeah, Chambers could have a big year this year in that Charger offense. Coles is good, but i picked him up mostly cus of the Brett Favre factor. Those Jets receivers might have a better then normal year. Also, I was hearing before the draft that Ricky Williams might get the starting nod over Ronnie Brown. So had to pick him up.

props for knowing the deal...
yea, Chambers is a beast. of course I know that, following his career with the Dolphins. another year in the system with Rivers and they're good to go. only thing I don't like is Gates and LT taking away his looks. he's a beast when he gets the ball.
as for Coles, I agree. he could very well be Favre's new Greg Jennings.
GREAT pickup with Ricky. both of them were actually taking first team snaps at practice today, so they're gonna ease Ronnie back into action.

its a Its a 2 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D league
and there was 12 teams and i had the 8th pick

Yeah, I was hearing Ricky came into camp in insane shape. And that he really was looking like the better back in practice. So he's definetely worth taking a shot on. Plus, with Browns health...u never know.

didn't do bad at all. Schaub is undervalued and they'll be throwing more.
I'm not so sure about Maroney and the Pats' backfield situation tho..

If Favre cane make the Jets passing game relevant, it might create some more opportunities for Thomas Jones in the run game. I wouldnt be surprised to see Thomas Jones > Maroney in your league HipHop.
-
^ yeah im going to give maroney my number to spot right now. I truly beleive that the pats will be looking more of a 50//50 load since they were passing all the time last season. However, if im wrong i will most likly change up maroney for thomas jones

I got a decent team, we only have an 8 team league so there is a few good pickups still on waivers, ill do that when I need a backup QB, I might need to change my defense since the Giants lost Umeniora but ill see

youre running backs might be an issue man. McGahee is alright. McFadden is a rook, so he's a question mark. But I think he'll be good. Fargas will be splitting carries with him. So unless one of em emerges as the overwhelmingly better back...they each might only get half the carries a normal starting back would. If you can, go pick up Perry (if he's still available) from Cincy. He's fighting Rudi Johnson for the starting spot. But Johnson has injury problems, and word is Cincy is shopping him for a receiver (with Ocho Cinco out).

I'm shopping Eli right now. I usually gamble with one player a year though, I did with Cadillac Williams his rookie year, Carson Palmer his first year as a starter, and this starts way back to when Shaun Alexander took over for Ricky Waters when he got hurt. So this year, I decided I'm gamble on McFadden, but got Fargas just in case one gets hurt, 'cause last year the Raiders had the best running game and one will get 1,000. But I'm still shopping Eli for a solid RB.

lol if youre comfortable with your receiving core....you COULD keep him until he's healthy. But it could be over a month before then. But before you get rid of Eli....u might want to drop Curtis and pick up a free agent back.

well, the starting lineups r only 10 players with 4 of them being individual defensive players.
it's interesting cuz it's a deep league, but if one of ur starters get hurt, and u don't have his handcuff, then ur screwed...cuz chances r that someone already has em.
last year I finished 11 of 20. lol
