LINCOLN CITY, Ore. — Former Portland Trail Blazers center Kevin Duckworth died while on a trip to the Oregon Coast to host a free basketball clinic. He was 44.
The Lincoln County sheriff's office confirmed the death. He died Monday.
The 7-foot Duckworth spend six-plus seasons with the Trail Blazers starting in 1986-87 and was a Western Conference All-Star in 1989 and 1991.
Duckworth came up with San Antonio as a second-round pick out of Eastern Illinois in 1986 and moved on to the Blazers are only 14 games with the Spurs.
After leaving Portland in 1993, he played two seasons in Washington and one for the Milwaukee Bucks before one final season with the Los Angeles Clippers in 1996-97.
