Bishop ain’t even come out yet somebody destroying him... felt compelled to post this here because there’s a strong point in there. I digged the pope mobile though. Before somebody asks this floating on some blog on the net if you curious search it.
I never paid proper attention on how Bishop dissed Eminem.....
BISHOP LAMONT: HERESY HERESY HERESY HERESY HERESY
That’s what you hear when you let the Pope Mobile roll.
Bishop Lamont has a "gospel song". He's a respected street theologist. C'mon, don't laugh. At least he means it. Check out some of his pearls:
- "I spit that good book and still get my dick sucked, chuch!!"
- "Don't think cause I'm saint I won’t fuck you up"
- "Kirk Franklin like porn, nigga so do I, if that's enough to burn in hell, my bitch won’t meet me in the sky"
- "I ain't met a nigga yet to come back after he died and explain exactly how things work on the other side"
- "I don't need no fucking wings, I don't need no fucking heart, just give me Yo MTV and some bitches to fuck"
And this came from only one song. I'm afraid to look after more.
You know, normal people would just think more than twice before going against the word of God, literally, and with such confidence say something so distorting that can't even be called a re-interpretation. Men are foolish and their hearts constantly deceitful; self titled bishop exemplifies me.
But see, he thinks it's beautiful to go on another direction. He probably has a lot of credentials on the matter theology/philosophy/metaphysics to open his mouth and deliver such a good deed, his "knowledge" to (who else again ? Industry's favorite target, you guessed it) the kids, the ones that ain't got the anti-stupid-shit-shield yet. SHIT, I myself don't have any diploma on the matter and am able to see the contradicting things he say just from ordinary Bible reading and logic chain use. He leans basically on word play and look-like-right stuff – people got smacked for less during history.
But he’s got some protection (oh.. you thought he was that brave ? You didn’t think he would’ve said this in the time of the real Reformation do you?).
"But guess what ? First amendment bitch, got freedom of speech so I’m gon talk my shit"
check this; because constitution gives him the right to say anything he wants and that much of a freedom didn’t have him weighting sense on his words.
Constitution gives people the right to say anything they want and that’s dumb motherfucker’s excuse to not think too much about what comes out of the boca.
But he probably also thinks that this is going to make a buzz and this controversy will make him sell records, like most of Dre's previous protégés (actually like during his entire career but anyway...). I hope not because then he would be a traitor to moral principles, if he has any, fitting precisely on the definition of sellout. Think again why hiphop got so off track.
That's not the way hiphop and religion should mix, if they should. It’s not by telling gs they’re right that you’re going to get their respect and attention. Neither is by saying Jesus was a gangster that you are going to reach them. There’s no such thing as "keeping religion hood" because it’s already universal.
I’ve been wanting The Reformation but if it’s filled with BS like this I ain’t going to the store to buy it. I remember when rappers had swing; it was around the time they knew their boundaries.
This is more serious than it looks – the distortion of conventional values by entertainment on the implicit basis that the old is wrong/outdated and the shocking (as confrontation with the established) is a pre-requisite for art. Here I agree he’s merely a piece on the evil chess game.
When Dre said he made him uncomfortable with some of his lyrics content, he actually liked it. Instead of taking the veteran hint and not go there, he does just the opposite. Twisted line of thought huh ? Those who don’t deny their basic senses when hear his claims of Jesus being the first gangster ("gangsta shit, He started this stuff"), will realize we’re dealing with a unprecedented dumbness in hiphop. I guess it is the fucking end; kiss all of it goodbye.
At least he’s right at something: "Rappers wanna sing, singers wanna rap, I guess the world is about to end when shit gets that wack.". Hey... what a stab at Eminem: It’s either this or he didn’t hear Love You More, Hailie's Song , Cleaning Out My Closet ("I’m sorry momma..."), Mockingbird, Ricky Ticky Toc , My 1st Single, to name some, which I doubt, plus he also pokes on rappers who wanna act, like fuck 8 Mile (on Eminem again), Get Rich Or Die Tryin, The Wash.
Or just might be the defect of those who talk too much, which is they end up loosing record of what they say, and is what I believe is the case.
To finalize, I'll leave you with the crown of stupidity; that could only come out of someone that praises himself/herself, the self idolatry sin maximus:
"I'm a honest man, selling my truth, not yours, not theirs, not the, my truth".
Boy you do remind me of the first liar ever.
"I don’t listen to kids, kids listen to me, so when they grow up who you think they wanna be?"
(Bishop Lamont).
