Just got my pair of Beats By Dr Dre today and i have to say the shit bangs. I did read reviews and saw it was mixed and there was a few reviews stating they werent that special for the price but out of all headphones i have ever owned from Pioneer, Technics, Sony & Sennheiser top of the range shit these Monsters shit on them IMO...i hooked up my iPhone & the shit was blasting...but on my computer man the clarity is super excellent & i highly recommend them for any DJ/Producer/Artist....i use to set my sound to near full blast cause i love my shit loud & now i cant go past 1/2 way cause its way too loud...even on full blast shit dont distort a nuthin wihout touching any of my audio settings on my soundcard...
If your been thinkin about grabbin these then i recommend buy them i ended up picking up a pair shipped for $320USD which was below RRP.
Dre you done it again my dude!

How much $ do you usually spend on headphones?
What kind of music do you usually listen to? If anything besides hip hop...
Are you a listener or do you work professionally with music/sound?
Wondering cuz I've heard mixed reviews as well and I'm in the market for new headphones for under $500.00
I've heard the bass response is great but I need pretty good response from all frequency ranges so if you wanna let me know cuz...let me know
-
hot damn @ that siggy pic yo. lol. Yeah I was wondering if dre actually had a hand in making these too. What's the frequency range on them, or the impedence I mean? can u post the spec's actually or a flick of them/back of the box homie?

Man anywhere from $200-$350 max. And as far as that i work with music daily & its strictly hip hop, i dont bump nothing else except maybe a lil R&B here & there and it was perfect also wit that shit.
I was a lil worried bout the mixed reviews but i took the jump man and i dont regret it...my advice is to go into the Apple store & chec them out i mean on my iPhone the shit was louder & clearer than a muthafuka!
As far as frequency i personally dig alot a treble man so the treble was clear as & bass is nice & deep yet clear.
As far as specs believe it or not there aint none at all on the box or inside the booklets which is strange but if you go online you can find one a two reviews with the specs...IMO they are the best headphones ive come across & i have been fuckin wit music since late 95....
I did a quick search & only found the following specs
Weight: 260 grams
Frequency response: 20Hz to 20kHz
Maximum output: 115dB
Bro im very happy wit them it was worth the cash IMO. All frequences on my desktop are giving me a nice sound real crispy clear but in saying that i guess you need to have a good soundcard also for max performance...

I tried them at the "beats" station at Best Buy and they were fucking dope. I got a homie that works there and he's gonna knock the price down to $149.00 so i'm gettin them shits. My advice is to get a friend that works in the electronics department @ Best Buy and then you can get your hellll yeahhh on while using the "Beats" headphones.

shiet i asked my friend for the headphone hook ups too at best buy. i didnt know they could knock it down that cheap though. i'll definitely buy it for 149.00. I already have the Bose QC3s, so i was contemplating them. but for $150 theres no question.

I highly doubt you can get them that cheap. If you could you could make a killing slanging them on ebay.

That's pretty bad low frequency responce....
I got 2 pair of headphones

Frequency response: 5Hz - 35kHz
and
Sennheiser HD-280 Professional Headphones

Frequency response: 8 Hz - 25 khZ
both cost less than 300 bucks
-
I still don't like how they take batteries

I'm interested in hearing how they sound. I'm not sure how effective i'd be using them to mix.. personally the better the headphones that i've messed with, the wacker the mix.. Kinda like listening to a beat in a big studio.. sounds bangin, but you get it in a car or something and it sounds like junk. I got my ears tuned to a pair of $30 sony headphones from Target. I can mix the heck out of a track goin back and forth from my studio monitors to those headphones.. So i probably wouldnt use them for production, but if they sound as dope as some are saying might be nice to just listen to music on.

you can't audibly hear less than 80hz dude, maybe feel it, but in headphones that won't even be a possibility. 5 hertz is just silly and useless.

They sound like Can Am Room B around your ears

the beyer dt-770's are well known for being bass monsters. how do they sound? is the bass too overwhelming or what?

Eh...that can be a bit true for beats that rely on the drums moreso than the melody, or just the overall boom to it. I don't think that means that you should "prefer" wacker headphones at all, and to be real, headphones ALWAYS suck for mixing music, because the sounds are all amplified a lot different. Many times, the drums sound too loud in the headphones, but they won't be loud enough in the car or on a real system...so I would never recommend doing a final mix on headphones at all.
-
I Don't Know But I'm Real Happy With My "Sony MDR-7506" I've Bought Them Twice Already And I Haven't Found Nothing Else I Like...

i've never done a mix on headphones alone. i wouldn't recommend that either. i don't think they suck for mixing though. i got a decent pair of monitors, and like i said i go back and forth between them. after using these cheaper sony headphones for years my ear was tuned to them. so i knew exactly how my drums would knock and my lows would distort. i used a pair of my cousin's $150 bose headphones and the mix was terrible.. great headphones for ME to listen to music on, but not to work with.. If i started with those and used them for awhile i'd start to adjust, but i like the ones i've been using. and if i have to replace them its $30.
like i said, i'd like to check em out for listening purposes. it'd be nice to hear music like it was mixed to be heard.

320 dollars? God Damn

As i said i recommend checking them out in store if your unsure but as far as my needs them shits bang real nice & clear. I also rely on Studio Monitors when working but sometimes i use my headphones to keep the neighbors happy or when i really want to hear in detail right to the eardrums...& these dre beats are great.

188 is a damn good price for them, I'd jump on that right now if I could
-
Damn, I want to get these but where im at in my life right now, it would be foolish.
props for the review, and Dre ounce said that he wont put his name on any beat that he didnt take partial part in, so i doubt he would take a chance to market some bullshit. (By that I mean, Dre would not let these out their with his name on it if he didnt think they where top-quality)
im my own critique so for a review thats out to bash a product or whatever else, i can only blink and click to the next cat.
heres what im rockin' now...
