Title: What's the consensus among West Coast heads on Dre's work with The Firm album?
Post by: pootypooty on September 08, 2008, 12:47:36 AM
Interested to hear what you liked, or didn't like about it.

I think it was a better album than what the critics gave it, but it did lack something, I just can't quite figure out what it is. For what it's worth though, I thought the album was a solid 3.75/5.

Speaking of which, I'ma go bump this album right now.  8)

I liked all of Dr. Dre's work on The Firm album. He had 3 great beats "Firm Fiasco", "Phone Tap", "Firm Family" but the rest were mediocre although I still enjoyed them. Trackmasters ruined the album IMO.

Very dope album to me, I think Trackmasters beats are even better than Dre ones and havin AZ & Nas together on an album was tight

Dre's stuff was alright, it wasn't his best but definitely not his worst either  ;)

Yeah, there were a few tracks that were mediocre at best, but overall, I thought the album was a solid listen. Different strokes for different folks, I guess?

I also prefer Cormega to Nature, but don't know that it would've made any difference in the overall feel of the album other than Mega spitting better bars. BTW, I like Nature too. His first solo album was a solid effort.
