As many of you might have heard, I'm co-writing Damizza's autobiography "Guilty By Association," along with Damizza & J. Marshall Craig.
We're hoping to get it out so everyone can read it as soon as possible. I'm still trippin' out about how crazy some of these stories are! I wish I could say more, but it's definitely gonna be worth the wait.
Anyway, Damizza got a cease & desist notice from Mariah Carey this morning in his mail box. She's trying to block us from releasing the book!

I just think this is funny. Some people were saying the book is gonna be a "tell-all" on Dr. Dre, and now Mariah thinks it's all about her. Let's see who comes at us next. Holla!

It doesn't sound like they're trying to get Damizza to stop production of his book, but rather "warning" him that he signed/agreed/etc to not disclose certain information. If this information was going to be in the book I can see why they're sending the letter. If not, Mariah Carey's probably just taking procautions because Damizza has some embarassing/incriminating/etc information on her.

It's not a book specifically on Mariah Carey. It's an autobiography of Damizza's life. It includes a lot of stories about Mariah, and damn near everyone else in the music industry, because they are a part of his life.

What a legit piece of cease and desist. Damizza will have to prove to Mariah that it's all about him and not about his relationship with her by showing the book. You don't want your friend to become an enemy over a piece of literature; it'll be like Fushigi Yuugi (only in this case, Miaka and Yui were fighting over the love of Takagame).
