I remember a time when you wouldn't hear snoop spit a weak verse or rhyme over some trash but times has changed. I guess money goes to some niggas heads.

you're right. suge may have been a fucked up individual but he kept snoop on his toes. i ain't ever heard a wack snoop verse when he was on the row or no limit. not until he started fuckin' wit pharrell.

A number of things:
1. The beats moved away from groove and melody to which Snoop's style lends itself effortlessly
2. He has nothing left to prove musically; he's not hungry -- there's nothing he can do at this point that will convince people one way or another as to his musical merit
3. He used to probably spend days on a song, doing take after take until it sounded right. These days he does 1 or 2 takes and that's it.
4. He is not focused on music anymore -- music is just a component of the larger Snoop Dogg brand -- he has other avenues of revenue
5. Fans will buy his music no matter what, so he feels doesn't even need to try
6. He has nothing left to rap about
There's six reasons off the top of my head...
