What an amazing series. It's the greatest TV show, I've ever seen. Some scenes have been way more powerful than most movies I've seen too.

yeah it is really dope, i think the first 3 seasons were the best but the last 3 were very good too.....you should check out "the corner" a miniseries by the same people, that shit is good

You liked season 5? I've been trying to erase it from my memory.

I thought it was good. Doesn't match 3 and 4 or even 1,2 but still good. The series overall is amazing though. I probably would have preferred Omar to kill Marlo though.

Season 5 was such a mess for me. It wasn't just the Omar stuff, which ended so stupidly. The who show just strayed from its roots in so many ways. It turned into a regular network show in some aspects. The newsroom stuff was amazing but then it went too far with the fake story. Season 3 had Hamsterdam which I thought wasa bit much but that was it. Season 5 had too much going wrong.

McNulty's fake serial killer was a stretch, but I still enjoyed the themes that ended up as a result of it.

Greatest show ever!
I liked season 5, a little slow at first but it was good. The 9th episode alone made it a good season.

Was that the ep right after Omar died? It was funny how the worst episode of the series was followed by one of the best. It still wasn't enough for me. It's like a really shitty song with a great bridge. You get 3 choruses and two verses of crap before you hear it and then it goes right back to shit when it's over.

i agree the last season is the worst but i wouldn't go quite as far in saying its terrible or nothing. it was still enjoyable but coming after the great season 4 and with the slightly unbelievable storyline it was a lil weaker than the rest. you gotta love the way omar was killed off though, that was real clever and a good example of the 'anti-drama' that runs through the entire show...

Anti-drama would have been some random thug, maybe one Omar robbed once, killing him and having his past catch up with him. Having an 8 year old with newly developed serial killer tendencies do it, particularly when he's an established character, was anti-dramatic. It was over-dramatic and stupid.

nah i can't agree but i'm more about the way it was filmed and not given any particular special attention or punctuation for such a long running character to just get shot. was completely unexpected and without any of the cues you might expect to prompt emotion from the audience. thats what i remember about it anyway...

They don't explain how Kenard turned crazed lunatic who burns cats overnight. They don't explain why Kenard who works the corners all day was in that part of town. They don't bother because they used that Paul Haggis Crash-like co-incidence to serve as some gay twist. The way the storyline was set up, with the cowboy shootouts and the set up of Butchie, they should have just had Omar kill Marlo and have a happy ending. It was just a twist for the sake of it being a twist. Pro wrestling does it all the time and it's always stupid.
