Title: Poll: Dogg Chit vs. Cali Iz Active
Post by: bullet_wrongkind on September 22, 2008, 12:19:40 AM
IMO DOGG CHIT > CALI IZ ACTIVE

dogg chit- hard beats, more gangsta

cali iz active-more mainstream weak ass collabos (what the fuck do buffy daddy on it)
except of battlecat beats, the album is weak

I think lyrics wise Dogg Chit is better. Beats wise although they were not incredible to say the least, CIA is better. More polished, mixed better, etc. Dogg Chit sounded a bit dated at times but I still enjoyed it.

tough choice between two disappointing albums. I gotta pick CIA tho. it had more tracks I liked.

Dogg Chit was kool, but sounded dated and Kurupt wasn't on point, except for a FEW tracks.

I'm going with Cali Iz Active

Yes, it has the horrible Paul Wall and Diddy collaborations. And it also has some very disappointing beats from otherwise reliable producers in Jazza Pha and David Banner. However, it does something that Dogg Chit fails to do: it tries something new. Neither album is all that great lyrically, as Kurupt for the most part doesn't live up to his usually high standard while Daz seemingly spits the same verse on every song. Without the quality of verses we're used to, most of the songs fall back on the overall sound. Both CIA and Dogg Chit bring some classic sounds to the table, but the latter fails to do anything but. The tracks on Dogg Chit sound just like any other Left Coast, gangbang song they have ever made, only minus the lyrical prowess. Cali Iz Active also fails on the lyrical level for the most part, but succeeds in changing up their sound a little. While songs like "Throwin Up Da C" and "Heavyweights" definitely have a West Coast feel, they nonetheless sound at least a little different than their traditional sound. Although songs like "Make that Pussy Pop" prove that they shouldn't migrate south anytime soon, they are able to adapt their flow and style to most of the tracks that do not have the usual Dogg Pound sound. The lead single on CIA pushes it over the top, and I have to give CIA the title over Dogg Chit. Anybody Killa is still a sick song though.

Cali Iz Active easily takes it. Kurupt's on point on a gang of tracks like (ex. Slow Your Roll, Keep It Gangsta). I didn't care too much for the shitty features but like someone else said, they were going a different direction w/ this album + a new DPG sound.. & I thought it was a pretty solid album with 6-7 decent/dope tracks. Not a record I'd bump everyday but I felt I got my moneys worth unlike, "Dogg Chit". :-\

they can't pull off that southern sound. "Cali Dro" was dope although it was only a feature.

For a fact, the answer is Dogg Chit. The other album should have been titled Cali Iz Wactive.

I'm kinda feeling the west coast sound of dogg chit more then CIA. CIA seemed to have abit more of the mainstream style to it and don't think it was all there lyrically

It's all hood and CIA are cool tho

I'm gonna have to go with Dogg Chit because IMO it was dope the first time I heard it, and I still enjoy it to this day... I was bangin' that non-stop when it came out for quite awhile... yeah it wasn't their best in terms of lyrics, but it was still a pretty good album just in general and it had some bangers

Cali Iz Active is good, but that one took awhile for some of the songs to grow on me... back when I first bought that, I was only able to really get into 4-5 songs right away, and the rest I had to listen to more before I could enjoy them

Best post I've read in a while. I'd prop ya if I could. Throwin Up Da C is dope for sure!

CIA!  Way better tracks minus the Paul Wall song, Jazzy Pha track, that "C" song and the David Banner track...everything else bangs

Dogg Chit wasn't worth the listen...I was highly dissappointed wit the lyrics and production...DAZ needs to not produce anymore if he's gonna be stuck in the 93-94 DOGG FOOD era..FACT

Dpg is dope... Both are sick..... I cant believe some ppl choice of music... i find it suprising someone doesnt like It's Cracking 2nite... or that dave banner beat.... man ... and the paul wall track.... those beats are sick... lyricly cracking all nite aint much... but others are dope.....

Dogg Chit.... If any one didnt like Vibe with a Pimp.... then ur not down with funk.... that was dope... and then for hard shit... Buck um .... krazy... man... i like bunch of track on those records .......

I think i would have to say Cali Iz Active.                I THINK EVERYONE SHOULDNT MAKE AN OPINION ABOUT THE PRODUCTION UNTILL THEY HEARD IT IN A CAR WITH PROPER SYSTEM.....

I thought Kurupt was tighter on Dogg Chit than CIA and the album flowed better

CIA had some dope tracks but felt like a compilation album to me
