thats a pretty lame question. define producer.
In the music industry, a record producer or music producer has many roles, among them controlling the recording sessions, coaching and guiding the musicians, organizing and scheduling production budget and resources, and supervising the recording, mixing and mastering processes. This has been a major function of producers since the inception of sound recording, but in the later half of the 20th century producers also took on a wider entrepreneurial role.
The music producer could, in some cases, be compared to the film director in that the producer's job is to create, shape and mold a piece of music in accordance with their vision for the album.

i would classify him as a wack producer......
-
There is nothing wrong with his production skills. He's no different than anyone else. It's his composing skills you guys are questioning, and yes he's shitty composer, but so is Dre, and Primo, and Kanye, and Pete Rock. Eminem is like a decent movie director that either a) gets shitty scripts or b) tries to write his own scripts and can't pull it off. When he chooses someone else's great script and directs it like he did Sing For The Moment it sounds fine because the sample sounds fine.

I think Eminem is pretty decent!! I always look forward to hearing new records produced by Him, in whatever capacity! ;)

i would classify him as a hit/miss producer. cant deny he produced some good songs, was he worthy to produce pacs album? imo i dont think so.
-
If he oversees the whole project of a song or album then yeah i would classify him as a producer.
What if like most rappers today produced and made their own beats though? so I think he did pretty good in that direction

yeah i was wondering if people think Eminem gets the credit he deserves, or that he should have gotten less.

He did almost the whole thing. The ones he didn't produce were "The Set Up", "Bad Bitch", "Shit Hits The Fan", "Follow My Life", "Spread Yo Shit", "Look In My Eyes", and "Oh".

well the rest of them were pretty fuckin dope!
-
he's a terrible producer
and it's laughable how similar his beats are
-
He is decent. It's funny him and Lloyd Banks have great chemistry on tracks he produces.
-
8 Mile soundtrack was his best produced album, imo.
-
Definitely not 1 of the best. Beats on Encore were pretty bad. I must be 1 of the select few that liked some of the beats on Loyal To The Game. Best beats were on Cheers and 8 Mile soundtrack, Lose Yourself and 8 Mile are dope beats.
-
yeah he's a producer....
wasn't a good one til' he did a lot of that shit on the 8 mIle movie soundtrack tho...
really that was teh only project I was really feeling from him....I know he wants to make dough, but he really should go back to grabbing beats from the better producers out there....
lol @ some artists grabbing beats from him.....damn Nas....SMH....
-
Hit an miss producer.
Though imo the period from GRODT, TES, 8 Mile & Cheers, he was producing some dope beats.
-
yeah i noticed that most of his work sounds very similar :P
he got some dope dark stuff though, like Moment of clarity, Average Man and Patienly Waiting 8)

Exactly. It's like he (just like the rest of Shady/Aftermath umbrella) stopped trying around 03/04.
I also like the 2 beats he did for Xzibit (Don't Approach Me and Say My Name), Banks's first album (Warrior part 2, On Fire, Till The End) and the 1st single from The Re-Up comp. was dope too.

yeah man for sure, patiently waiting is an unreal track, and 50 came off damn good on it too.
-
did he produce "We Ain't" on The Documentary? that beat was ridiculous! 8)
