im not sure most people on this board know who tru life is,
being that he's from new york, but on the real this is a hard one for me.
they both got two different styles obviously(east vs west flow).
in terms of material though, i think i was actually able to
bump all of omar cruz's mixtape from start to end.
i wasn't able to do that with tru life, but tru life is a little more
nimble with the flow and i dig that.
ima leave this at level. cuz omar got some heaters and so does tru life.
but i still think both need a lot of improvement before i can call em
top notch mc's.

that was some quick thinking, js83. I have to say Omar Cruz. Never heard of Tru Life until I heard this dis song on him by DK=Gangbang Mentality. And I read that Tru Life saw a relative of his jump to his death off a tall building.

I respect both of them but I have to go with CRUZ. Tru life had Jay Z on his team & he still could not do anything. All CRUZ has is his B.Y.I fam & they keep it pushing. Just hope Interscope give's CRUZ a release date so we can hear his album.

tru life fell off the map hella hard.
i think it was after he started talking greazy about snoop,
a lot of people stopped fucking with him.
it sucks too cuz snoop was the one putting him on.
he was gonna executive produce his album,
and tru life had heavy push by Jay-Z.
then roc la familia fell apart, aint heard shit from that dude since.
all his 2003-2006 mixtape shit was straight heat though.

Tru Life got alot of street cred for a real lil guy, he's from one of the most active housing projects in New York City (Baruch Houses) in the lower Eastside which your never hear about in hip hop because most of the youth and young adults there are incarcerated early in life. But on the mic, Im not sure, he's kinda been falling off lately, hopefully he puts out some new solid material, but as far as him battling Omar Cruz, I would have to say that he has a good chance at coming out on top, just because battle rap alot of times is also about energy, and Tru Life has an awful lot of that.
But I would like to add I believe Omar Cruz can make a better "song" than Tru Life, and appeal to more people.
and if you never heard of Tru Life, he is comparable to Prodigy of Mobb Deep, very similar rhyme style, and thug swag. But he's Puerto Rican (Latino) and reps too.

yeah i heard something like that. He said he was Snoop Dog's body guard when he came to NY, but on some youtube interview he's getting at Snoop real greazy like don't call me when you come to NY no more or some shit

nothing. kept it moving and still gave the dude a chance.
they even did a song together after. i think snoop said he wanted
to let him know that his behavior could have cost him his career.
he wanted him to shape up and do good as an artist.
after that, i think he leaked like a few more tracks and no one
