Post by: The-Leak (aka) kingwell (bka) JULES on October 03, 2008, 01:53:42 PM
JULES: Hey, thanks for doing this!

KLASIX: No problem man, thank you for having us!

JULES: Where are you guys from?

KLASIX: We’re from Jersey, Newark aka Brick City.

JULES: How long have you been making beats?

KLASIX: Well, we’ve been producing as a team for nearly 6 years.  We all started at different times in our lives, but for the most part it was around 2000, 2001.

JULES: You’re beatmakers foremost, but do you dabble in any other musical fields?

KLASIX: We’re actually not beat makers lol.  Never call us that.  We’re music producers it’s a huge, I mean a huge difference.  We actually do Rock, Alternative, Pop, Reggae, Techno, and we can actually Score, we’ve done that lol.  We’re learning..

JULES: Have you made producing your occupational career?

KLASIX: Yeah and it has been for the past 6 years.  It’s who we are.   When our friends look at us and even our parents when they see us… 9 times of 10 they see Producer.  Everything from the way we dress to how we speak, interests, everything about us say:  Music.

JULES: What equipment do you use?

KLASIX: Well we have 3 seperate studios, but we all mainly use: MPC 2000, Reason, fruty loops, Motif, Micro Korg, Logic, Protools, and everything around us

JULES: What are you influences when making beats?

KLASIX: Well when we make music we like to think of the person who’s listening to the music.  We like surprises we want for everytime you hear something from us. For it to have something in it that’s unexpected or different.  If you’re a Klasix fan then you’d know to listen to the end of the record.  It usually switches up or during some kind of break in the record… but we do that a lot.  As far as outside influences: The Neptunes, Timbaland, Just Blaze, Dark Child, Bjork, 9th Wonder, Dj Premier, Justice, UFFIE… There’s so many, can we stop there?

JULES: What are the samples you’ve used in the Joe Budden productions we’ve heard so far?

KLASIX: lol wow… Are you telling me you’re gonna take the fun out of crate diggers lol… Na let’s not …  Let them tell you…. good one though!

JULES: Which rappers would you like to lace with your beats?

KLASIX: Honestly… we’re looking forward to working with Kanye and even Pharrell , Wale, Beanie Sigel, HOV!!!!!!!, Wayne, and even do a song with the late great B.I.G.. We got one, can’t wait to let ya’ll hear it…

JULES: Are you working on any upcoming projects we should know about?

KLASIX: Hmmm, Padded Room, we got some joints on there. The Academy, uhhhh nothing I can really talk about out side of Padded Room.  We haven’t gotten any confirmations on the projects we’re working on, but just know that we’re working!

JULES: Are you guys signed to a label?

KLASIX: Currently not signed to a label, But will be soon.  As soon as we find out we’re gonna come back and report to you guys!!!!

JULES: That’s all I have for you, any last words for the readers?

KLASIX: Yessir… When you think of The Klasix, keep ya mind open!  Alot of the fans expect for us to make Mood Muzik forever and that’s only 1 side to us.  Friends/Fans all that hit us on myspace,. www.myspace.com/klasix we always respond to writers.  That’s us talking to you guys!  Listening to ya music and giving feed back.  Until then ~1~ PS: Thanks for having us we appreciate it!!!
