Title: West Coast Music Appreciation Thread
Post by: D-Nice on October 06, 2008, 07:45:39 PM
I am tired of all this bickering and flip flopping on this forum about this and that with west coast hip hop. Let's discuss some good music. New or established, producers or rappers. If you heard a album and want to comment on it or think peeps should check it out, talk about it. Anything goes, but I here the coast is dead every year and every year I can find at least 10-20 very good albums that drop out here. New artists or artists that just dropped would be better but fuck it any and everything west that u dig lets speak on it.

check out Dilated Peoples! they r SICK.

DJ Babu, Evidence, and Rakaa make one hell of a group. Evidence's flow is similar to Buckshot's (east coast, but still).

The Platform, Expansion Team (their best album), Neighborhood Watch, and 20/20 r the albums to check!

production ranges from The Alchemist to DJ Premier and is top notch west coast underground music.

Muggs is collaborating with everyone. I heard even maybe he might do a whole album with Ras Kass.

Sounds good, Ras was tight on "Heart Of The Assassin".

Murs is great, make a sure to check out his new major album. I have to cop it tomorrow!

He's also part of the group called ''Felt'', with Atmosphere (Slug & Ant). You can't go wrong with Atmosphere, so this shit is bangin'! I hope they're going to release another album as Felt.

Did not find Mr. Doctor, but I found this though

one of the best albums EVER, straight classic front to back... +1

Mr. Doctor's first album "Setrippin' Bloccstyle" is near classic, the rest of his shit is weak IMO

And no album sounds like this one. The production was banging and Lynch was killing these tracks. People talk about all the crazy shit Eminem was saying when he came out. This dude was talking about killing kids in skits and baby guts and Jeffery Dalmer type shit before Em was out.

Yea, Pain Language is dope. I love that dark production by Muggs. Planet Asia also delivers nicely with the lyrics.

Album is tight. Good to hear something fresh and positive.

One of the hardest albums ever, not for the faint of heart. Lynch's flow was unfuckwitable, straight Classic.
