Sorry if this has been posted, but I only just found it. It's an interesting read - he says Interscope pulled the plug on 'Grow Up', sending a cease and desist letter to all radio stations threatening legal action if they continued to play it. Also says that Detox is "nowhere near ready".

Props on the find..Is definitely newer interview. He seems a little worried and unsettled about things.
-
Props for the link. He mentioned the cease & desist on Grow Up earlier, but otherwise this one is fresh.
Man, I still can't believe Interscope did that. It's like they're waiting on Dre to finish Detox before they'll give anybody a chance. And God knows how long that's gonna be.
-
I think there will be no Aftermath label in 2009 no more.
-
So, definetly no Detox in 08' ? Lol. Bishop seems fed up with Dre, Detox, Aftermath and Interscope. I smell a "Busta Rhymes" coming very soon.
-
Finally Bishop stopped the BS "it's gonna be magic , it's coming soon" talk and told it like it is : Interscope , Aftermath and Dre are just jokes
-
this is a great interview, grow up really made me become a fan, before that I thought he was kinda boring. Its a shame dre and interscope are fucking him around, he seems like a real dude.
this nigga got me wanting to get a bucket of boat trash now, haven't been to bubba gumps in a minute. He know about the good food spots, yamishiro is the best place to take a lil female to eat, with the bomb as view.

Bishop is the man.
That interview is depressing as hell, though, to be honest.
Paints a sad state of affairs for Bishop, Detox, Dre (on a personal level), and the label itself.
Only thing I'm still confident may happen is Em's joint dropping.
-
that's a good interview :)
it's good to see that bishop is trying to face reality.
he better get away from interscope, because it's like the place is on fire; get out while you still can.
Q: What about all those mixtapes?
A: The mixtapes…those are the street album. I’m like, ‘we gotta’ put stuff out, I can’t starve the people and make people lose faith in me as a new artist and Dre as a seasoned veteran. We’ve got to put music out and feed the masses on whatever level, to keep the movement correct and the momentum going. I don’t want the fans to be disappointed, we’re bringing stuff that’s going to give the west coast and hip hop a resurgence. There’s lyricism and just banging beats and that’s really the thing for me…just creating music. Every time I create though something gets pushed off the album and the release date gets pushed back,
yeah i hope that Calitroit Metropolis and another street album will be released in the next couple of months

fuck interscope

"Swagger is a shield to protect wack people"
Bishop is a god, spitting in the face of every Dipset and Lil Wayne fan on the planet.

Very interesting interview. Seems to confirm what a lot of us have suspected for a while now - the powers that be at Interscope have lost their collective minds. It's like they're clearly aware of the market decline but have no idea what to do about it. Putting all the pressure on Dre and "Detox" won't save them though - Dre just won't operate well in that kind of atmosphere. Bishop seems to imply that throughout.
-
damn i was really looking foward to hearing detox finally to

Just hire D.O.C. to steal some stuff and get outta Interscope.

sounds like he´s a little whiny. he knew damn well what he was getting himself into when he signed with a major so stop fucking complaining. if you didn´t wanna sit around on the shelf for years you shouldn´t have signed with the biggest label in the world! Eminem,50 Cent,Gwen Stefani,Dr.Dre and the next big thing Bishop Lamont lol.

Bishop is the truth. A modern hip-hop artist unlike a lot of these lackluster fucks. Shit will be a classic if he can get it to drop.
