It's been a little bit over a week since we've seen rapper Murs drop his most anticipated and talked about album yet, "Murs For President". Dubcnn reached out to the Mid City L.A. native to exchange a few words about the current talk of the town.
Of course we get into the whole major vs. independent talk, since a lot of his long time fans questioned the outcome of his major label debut. But as Murs told Dubcnn in a loyal statement: "Everytime I get on TV and the radio, I try to mention people in the independent scene and I try to tell people where I come from and make sure I represent for all my independent brothers." To read more about this and other subjets, check out the exclusive interview that we conducted with Murs.
As ever, you can read and listen to this exclusive interview and we urge you to leave feedback on our forums or email them to liljay@dubcnn.com.

out of curiosity, does anyone know how many units Murs has pushed yet?
Far too little. 1st week was 12k.
Props for the feature. Murs is very much needed in hip hop. The video is cool although I'd like to see one for A Part Of Me.
Dope album, dope artist which will be slept on by the hypnotized sheeples out there. Pathetic.

props on the info, yeah its a shame that people wont even give it a listen. like i mentioned before i slept on dude until i actually gave it a once through on youtube, then i immediately went out and bought it cause it was worth supporting this cat. same people cryin hip-hop is dead are the ones with a stranglehold on it cause they refuse to support real mc's

Couldn't agree more. Props for supporting Murs.
On a side note, Warner Brothers can't be too thrilled with the sales of the record considering all the promo and MTV exposure he had leading up to the release. I don't see him releasing another one on the label unless this magically starts selling like crazy.

Great video! Let's hope he'll shoot a video for ''Soo Comfortable'' with Kokane!
One of the best track of 2008 in my opinion.
-
album just arrived in the mail yesterday!!!
listened to it earlier and wow shit is dope as fuck! the reviews were average so i wasn't sure what to expect but i loved it
sucks it isn't selling well cause it may mean we may not hear MURS over this type of production again
cause I much prefer him over this west coast more polished production than solely just 9th wonder production even tho 9th is dope aswell it was awesome to break it up, nottz had some killer beats and the track with kokane was off the hook
