Title: which westcoast artists should i check??

if i see a myspace page it's getting air pie..i mean recognized artists...im meaning to check G.Malone an B.Lamont as i been sleeping on both..i know about the old school cats and Game obviously..ive already checked Spider Loc and not feeling him so is there anyone im missing out??

Well i know Crooked obviously used to follow him when he was killing the wake up show and ish but not really too bothered with him anymore....any particular ya boy tracks i should peep??...is roscoe still about aint heard nuttn from him in a minute?

Meh, G. Malone has a lot of good stuff IMO, but also some not so good stuff. Bishop Lamont is hit or miss, usually miss. Other than that you should check out Mr. Capone-E, Crooked I and Mr. Criminal. They are consistent rappers. Mike Ant is a good singer, but he unfortunately works with mostly garbage artists.

When you ask questions like this on this forum, you always get to hear Crooked, Ya Boy, Malone, Bishop, Cruz etc. =always the same cats. But none of them will ever blow up, and most of them are average or wack. Or they release mixtapes where they "freestyle" over beats from classic albums like 2001 for the rest of their life instead of creating some own music. (who could it be?- a little hint- his name begins with Crook and ends with I)
Let's be real: who of them wannabe New West rappers has released a good album to this day (if you exclude Game)? Nobody. All they can offer is max. one or two good mixtapes.
So my answer to your question is: I don't know. On the westcoast, there is no (younger) artist you necessarily have to look out for.

I dont get shit like this, what do you care if an artist 'blows up' or not?? Do you like an artist because he's a good artist, or because lots of little 14 year old girls like him??? Dont get me wrong, Im a Crooked I fan, and Id love to see him 'blow up' and make some real money, it would be great for him... BUT, I dont think thatll ever happen, but that doesnt make me like him less or anything, even though the commercial world wont recognize him, hes still one of the best MC's to ever grab the mic...

It's not important for me if they blow up or not, it's just an indicator that most of them are not good artists. Why do you think they are scared to release an album? It's not only label troubles.
I can tell you why Crooked I doesn't release an album: he's a great MC, he can (or could a few years ago) spit like hell, but he's NOT a real artist. He isn't able to do real songs, and therefore not to do a decent album. So 80% of the rappers you mentioned are mixtape rappers, some of em' got skills, and some don't- but they are no real artists. If you are satisfied with that ok, but I'm not.
I don't expect from any of them rappers to be a star getting love from 14 year olds like 50 cent etc, I would hate that, BUT I expect that they are able to release a good rap album that can convince  nearly all rap fans- coast to coast and not only a few westcoast nerds.
