Recent VH1 Hip-Hop Honorees Cypress Hill are being sued by Syl Johnson for $29 million dollars for allegedly lifting his music, according to TMZ.
The California group’s 1993 album Black Sunday included the track “Lock Down,” an interlude on the LP. In Johnson’s suit, he claims Cypress used his “Is It Because I’m Black” for the production. Several record labels and publishing companies were also included in the suit.
