Ok then, no, because i still think he has it in him to make a dope album.
-
Even if he puts out shit album after shit album, his '99 to '03 run will always be his legacy. I remember when Favre was coming back this yeear and everyone was wondering about his legacy and how it'll look if he stinks it up this year and someone on TV said when you think Jerry Rice you think 49ers and Superbowls, not Oakland Raiders. The greats are remembered for their best years. Eminem has nothing to worry about.
-
he needs to un-retire to restore his legacy in my opinion.....currently it's very damaged....the new song is very encouraging tho....
-
let em give it a shot

That's it right there.

His legacy will always remain. "The Slim Shady LP" is a classic.
I voted no because he fell off after "The Marshall Mathers LP" and it's gotten worse with each album.

Dre in detroit recording with em these days.. its going to be a beast, even though i dont really like his music.

Co Fuckin Sign
+1 for both of ya.. cheerss

no; a possible failure wouldn't damage his legacy.
Encore didn't really damage his legacy either.
the Eminem show was a backward step when looking at the marshall mathers lp; then it got a lot worse with Encore, which was a huge let down.
while there's a chance that the new album will be worse or as bad as Encore, i really doubt it will actually turn out that way.
since Eminem takes the time with this one, i think it will be better; whether that's good enough remains unknown.

No way, how can you say that?
Eminem's greatest song ever is "Lose Yourself" and decades from now it will be remembered as his signature song. I feel like 8 Mile was when he reached the apex of his carear and finally achieved his dream of having his story told to the whole world. And the title track "8 Mile Road" is a personal favorite of mine.
Also, the Eminem Show is his best album in my opinion.
Still, I will agree with you that his era from 98's Slim Shady EP until up to summer of 2000 with Marshall Mathers LP Eminem was brilliant. But I don't agree with you that he fell off after the Marshall Mathers LP, I think he remained brilliant until he finally said everything he had to say and had his story told to the world with the 8 Mile project.

Encore already tarnished his legacy.
Personally I'm not a fan of his music, but I know he has it in him to make a better album than anything he's already put out. He needs one last return to form before he can hang it up for good.
-
With the right production and subject matter eminem could still make a great album.
-
I don't see what the problem is. Everybody is entitled to have a bad album. Doesn't mean his legacy will forever be ruined. I think this new album will probably be better due to the fact of all of the stuff that happened around him.

Yup, Eminem can if he wants to.
-
He already ruined it with Encore and songs like Fack and so on. Haters will always remember him for that episode, so it really doesn't hurt his legacy if he puts more albums out.
-
Majority of hip hop heads look at his legacy as a cat that could of put out a true hip hop classic but catered too much to the MTV crowd.

I hate those types of songs.
-
If he comes with that encore bullshit repeat again tell him to fuck off. I voted Yes.
but if magically he finds his inner-idiot again and starts dissing everyone again and not giving a fuck PLEASE COME BACK!

Yeah that is a classic, and Encore is the polar opposite. He got to come back and make it right after putting that bullshit out
-
these rappers need to realize they cant' be #1 anymore becuz their space in time is gone
next generation is in
just make quality music and albums if ur a real artist and fiend to create music
if not, don't make nuthin
em and dre are not gonna sell like kanye or weezy these days
thats a fuckin faact
-
^i'm pretty sure encore sold more than any kanye or weezy album?
yeah he should have a crack, but i dont think he'll come with the goods.
-
Em dosn't fuck any lyricists I care about. I never listen to his shit anymore, sounds like ass nowadays. So much more refined hip-hop id rather listen to...
SSLP, MMLP that was his golden age. It is going to be incrediblly hard for him to come back and do something fresh, I don't see it happening, although I do see him coming back wit some laffy taffy, toilet humour bullshit...
