Kurupt & Roscoe Tell "The Frank & Jess Story" - New LP! - October 20, 2008 By : Rud

On November 11, 2008, the heydays of the Wild, Wild West will be revived by two of gangsta rap's most well known siblings; Kurupt and Roscoe. Distributed by Koch and released by High Powered Entertainment, "The Frank and Jess Story" is the first album to see the brothers unite for a full project.
The new album is said to "takes listeners on a lyrical conquest through the day-to-day antics of two well-respected and recognized rappers on all coasts."
"The Frank and Jess Story" is named after the notorious brothers and American outlaws; Frank and Jesse James; "The Frank and Jess Story" features tracks of all flavors and the sonic versatility of seasoned lyricists.
Younger brother Roscoe shines with the self-assurance of an artist at the top of his game, while Big Brother Kurupt delivers his sharp, bravado-infused vernacular and wit. The combination of Kurupt's tongue twisting complexity and Roscoe's rebelliously eager flow is not to be overlooked.
The project features production from John "J" Silva on tracks like "I Miss U" and the strip-teaser "Give Me a Lapdance" as well as on anthems "All I Need" and "Hate on Me." Guest appearances on the album include Dogg Pound Gangsta Daz Dillinger as well as Too Short, Kokane and Mrs. Kurupt herself, Gail Gotti.
We have just received the first single from the album minutes ago - "Break It Down Like" features Too Short and can be downloaded or listened to in Clean or Explicit format via our Embeddable Streaming Audio players.

Looking forward to this project, Kurupt and Roscoe going to drop some heat. I'm hoping the production delivers though.

Yeah, that Daz album he produced wasn't good.
I'm not feeling the track.
-
Thats a vicious song! but wheres Roscoe on it?
-
i like the concept. i hope the music is as good.
-
thanks rud 8)

Can't wait.
Yeah, Roscoe isnt on "Break it down like" - which seems a little strange. Maybe there will be some Roscoe solos on the album too?
The one I bought off iTunes didnt even have Too $hort on it, having him on there makes it more complete.

Thanks all, keep your thoughts coming!
-
Thanks, i'll check this out. Has the album allready leaked?

song is super dope

Why they'd use a no-name producer of dubious quality to produce their entire album, when they've got Fredwreck, Soopafly, Warren G and Battlecat within reach, is entirely beyond me. Surely, if they wish to make a good album rather then a quick buck they'd make sure the production would be good? It's not like either of them is lyrically impressive these days either so they can't rely on lyrics to make this album good. I might not be giving Roscoe enough credit here since most people really like him but I consider him a very average rapper.

i agree with you about the producer situation, when there are 3-4 top class producers within your group and they arent used, its crazy
but roscoe is far far from averadge

I wouldn't mind a J. Silva track or two but the entire album? FUCK NO... especially not for a project like this that has been long overdue... it would be a shame for this to be disappointing just because of production, but hopefully there is other producers like maybe even Daz or Soopafly
as for the track, it's dope but yeah where's Roscoe on it lol 8)

We can't really comment on the production until we've heard the whole album.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Great track this one.
Too Short is always nice.

I'm just worried because that Daz - Gangsta Party album was so horrible with the production. Hopefully they put more effort into the beats on this project.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems a little odd to release the first track from the "Frank And Jess Story" album without Roscoe on it.
Good song though :)
