Title: windows vista online question
Post by: acgrundy on October 21, 2008, 09:10:52 PM
seems like when my computer goes idle after 15 minutes of activity it will disconnect from the net.  I've never had this problem before.  Like I got a big file to download and I leave my computer and when I come back, it stopped after the computer went idle.  Anyone know about this?

Sounds like maybe your network card has a "check mark" in the "Power Save" box. You'll have to go into your Network properties and uncheck it. The Network card is going to sleep, so it shuts down internet access after being idle for so long, so when you wake the computer up again, it has to refresh the network state again.
