Title: A question for Glasses Malone
Post by: penenstamp on October 22, 2008, 06:50:41 AM
I'm listening to your new mixtape right now and I can't help but be annoyed by the tags from that Nik Bean transsexual. It adds absolutely nothing positive to the mixtape. Sometimes you understand what he's saying or what the computer voice is saying, but most of the times I can't even understand the tags.

You have the ability to spread this mixtape all over the internet. What in the world moved you to let this fool tag your mixtape??

EDIT: I'm hearing tags from other DJ's as well. This is a -1 for you.

Don't download mixtapes that are hosted by a DJ... Problem solved.
That's what I do.

What happened to production?

Thats an easy question...

Simply because the DJ & Emcee are a team.... both helping each other take there career's to the next level.

Those tags show my affiliation with a dj of my choice for a particular body of work.

Nik Bean is hands down the best at putting your cd in the streets of the West Coast... He's not afraid to cross

the 10 fwy. He'll come to Watts, Compton, Inglewood, Long Beach, South Central, East Los, and put my music in places where those city purchase music.

Thats my top priority. Making sure my fan base is serviced. Dow Jones makes sure it hits the north west. Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane.... not to mention

He makes sure that bitch is on every website possible. Shouts out to iLL WiLL and Raze One... they both are stamping there name out in the streets.

I do music for the STREETS... so whoever will put in the STREETS, gets the exclusive from me.....  Enjoy the F.G.M...... that bitch go hard........!!!!!

^ So how do you feel about all the negative comments on here that talk about the DJ tags? Judging by many posts on this forum, you sure not serviced your fanbase. That right there and making money should be any artist's top two priorities.

You could have sent this to plenty of websites and this would have been on the net without tags. You do NOT need any DJ for that, trust me. Let those fuckers put it out in the streets with their tags and let your real fans -cause let's be honest: fans follow you on the net- hear it untagged on the internet.

You give that so called "DJ" more exposure by letting them fuck up your mixtape than that they give you exposure. These are the people that give exposure to kids with no talent who try to make some money with rapping: myspace rappers. You don't want to be associated with people like that.

Do your fans a favor and put it out untagged. Listen, I don't have anything against you (in fact: I like your music a lot), but I am not going to buy your album if you put out another mixtape together with a DJ.

I can respect your opinion fam...

But I also respect the DJ's.... theyve done too much for me....... I can't turn my bac on them...

and if your a real fan of my music... you'll buy my album... a dj tag wouldnt stop you from doing that.

either way fam, all my stuff leaks with no tags........ eventually......... thanks for the support tho fam

You don't have to turn your back on them. I have the perfect solution for you and for any other artist that chooses to work with these low lives:

Let those fuckers put it out in the streets with their tags and let your real fans hear it untagged on the internet.

^ It's nothing against you personally, but it's something against you as an "artist".

"Artist" because I can't even call you one. You purposely make music unlikeable. Whether the music is good or bad, that is not cool.

i don't see anything wrong with djs tagging shit so long as it sounds good and isn't too annoying.

a dj is essential to the mixtape. it's not a mixtape without a dj, if it don't got a dj it's basically
just an album.

dj cuts and mixex, blends the tracks together. even to the days of wayback, them dudes
like dj kid capri, they'd do shout outs and shit, tags all on a mixtape.

remember it's a mixtape, it's supposed to be like the dj actually putting this on mixing
the tracks and cutting it back.

but i do understand where the dude is coming from with untagged versions.
what i see as a good idea, is putting out the tagged version first for the streets
and djs and whoever wants the get the cd first, then releaseing an untagged
version on the net later on.

i see a lot of people doin that, and thats dope.

there are definetly sum fans who still find the music very likeable or i wouldnt still be in business this long. As far as being an artist it depends how u interpret that. it's quite obvious that u are anti-mixtape dj and to be honest some am i to an extent.(beleive it or not) but u are entitled to ya opinion if u feel so strongly dont support me or the artist

i see what you say but pen has a point. for example you made one of the worst mixtapes wit one of my fav. emcees (Jayo Felony). i mean that's my only gripe wit you but you know...... practice makes perfect.

I indeed do not support you and if Glasses does another mixtape with you (or any other wacky DJ) I will not buy his album out of principle.

I am just annoyed by the tags because it was way more than usual. I am a little upset that it was not up to par cuz I was seeing G Malone get better & this didn't seem to do that. I literally listened to it twice & the second was just to confirm I wasn't gonna listen again.

I gotta say, A tag at the beginning of each song, I have no problem with, but when they are all over the track, it does get fucking annoying, its the main reason I don't download mixtapes.

You have an obsession with this dj-tag shit. Us others who may not like this, don't take this to our life goal. You are taking this too far, music aint ruined as long as that dj don't drop every 10 seconds. Get used to it or shut the fuck up and don't listen to any mixtapes...or wait for any untagged versions.
