The Chicago Bulls reportedly will be without shooting guard Larry Hughes until December.

Hughes, who dislocated his right shoulder Wednesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, will be out six to eight weeks, The Chicago Tribune, citing unnamed sources, reported Thursday. If he returns after six weeks, his first game would be Dec. 3 against the Bucks.

The newspaper reported that surgery likely will be avoided but Hughes will have more tests on the shoulder later this week.

Hughes left the game with 3:16 to play in the third quarter and did not return after getting his arm caught under Minnesota forward Mike Miller as the two dove for a loose ball. Hughes was leading Chicago with 21 points when he left.

"You've got to put the MASH unit back together and see who rolls out there for practice tomorrow," coach Vinny Del Negro said Wednesday night. "It makes it hard, no question."

Hughes joins Ben Gordon, Tyrus Thomas and Michael Ruffin on the sidelines.

Hughes, averaging 13 points per game in the preseason, is fighting for playing time in a crowded backcourt featuring Kirk Hinrich, Gordon and No. 1 draft pick Derrick Rose.

"It's definitely tough because I was getting my touch back," Hughes said Wednesday night, according to the Tribune. "I've had different injuries before, so I'll figure what I need to do with rehab to get 100 percent healthy. I'm confident I can do that."
