It wasnt bad, but it wasnt good IMO. After Kurupt delivers 3 great albums, maybe even 3 classic albums.(I consider all 3 albums personal classics 2 me.) Then Kurupts drops this, I was pretty disapointed. I was expecting somthing in regards to quality to match up with his previos records. The album is still better than most artist albums these days. I think even Kurupt stated that this was more of a mixtape/steet album more than a official album. I prefer "Against the Grain" over "SDDS" any day tho, The album just seems more complete, with way better production IMO (wasnt feelin daz prod. on this album). And "Throwbac Muzik" is better than any song on S.D.D.S in my opion. What i want to see is a album completly produced by Fredwreck and Battlecat for Kurupt next album, that shit would be dope!

I agree, Gotti sounds smooth of Battlecat beats and sounds raw on some of the Fredwreck stuff.

Im looking forward to his collabo album with Quik. That will be amazing.

"Same Day Different Shit" was alright but I had such big expectations because it was his first solo project since reuniting with Daz and they did the whole album together.

I share the same sentiment as pretty much everyone else here. It was a good project, but it seemed a little empty. It had bangers and it had disappointments. It's funny cause someone said "Against Tha Grain" was a lot better and I totally agree. I think the album gets a bad wrap because of the drama behind it, but musically it's a solid effort and sounds like a complete project... even though the one we got was technically not the intended product. Either way it was tight.

I'm just hoping that on Gotti's next project dude is going to have on point production and as far as I can tell we've been hearing good news lately. I also know that since SDDS dropped I have heard some promising rhymes coming from Kurupt. However, with that being said, I'm one of the few people that thinks Kurupt NEVER fell off and dude been coming correct for years. I can see where people differ with me though, cause the style switched up a little bit, but if you listen closely it's the same Kurupt, dude just expanding his styles. I'm a believer and I think he's coming through in '09.

I have similar feelings on Kurupt. I thought the tracks he did on Hi-Tek's last two albums were the best ones on the album. In fact, the one he did with Q-Tip and Dion was one of the best tracks I've heard from him. A lot of times, it's just a combination of so much being on his and Daz's plates, project wise, and just projects that you expect more from. "Cali Iz Active" should have been on the level of "Doctor's Advocate" but it was a lot of other region influences all over it so it never felt like a complete album. Supposedly, they didn't have a big budget with Koch.
