i know that a lot of people ( including me) are fed up with Detox.
Stat Quo's recent comments ( http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=198375.0 ) are a great example of that.
surprisingly, the majority of the voters from an older poll were still optimistic:
http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=195183.0
so what can Dr.Dre do to make up with the fans(or is it too late), according to you?
personally, i'd like to hear a warmup single; it may not guarantee the release of Detox, but at least i can get a bit of a taste of what's coming :)

2nd that like a muthafucka! I'd prop you on that, if I could.
-
[Dre] Just release your Death Row material and get the fuck outta here 8)
-
I think he should scrap th Detox idea and make it a Chronic 3 continue the G Funk sound like the first and bring in the same team when he first started ... The Chronic 3 = 2009 album ...... YEAHH !!!!! 8) 8)
-
I think Dre would do himself service by focusing on some other young Westcoast artist. He should get a few cats like Messy Marv, Zodiac the Mac, Lix dot Kong, Parker Brothers, I-Gang, Hyena Pacc, and Stack City and really push their sound.
When Dre first did the Chronic, and Daz and Kurupt, Rbx, and Snoop we're introduced. The game was fresh and full of life again. That's what I strongly believe Dre should do.
-
Bring out detox ft only westcoast artists!

resurrect the west coast and end lil waynes career
:D
luv that idea lol. i think he should drop unreleased joints hes recently done or traks over the years cuz hes hardly active so wat he can do is drop sum unreleased joints while he works on detox, maybe the single then he can stop dropping the throwback shit and wens he feels detox is gd and ready then he can jus drop detox shit.

Voted; other option;
NWA reunion, some "Murder Dem Murders" type of beats with Ren and Cube spitting some hardcore shit..... yes, that what I want.
Related thread;
That NWA album (Dre/Snoop/Cube/Ren) should of fukkin dropped, would be classic (http://www.dubcnn.com/connect/index.php?topic=150653.0)

I voted first option.
I think Dre really don't give a fuck about fans and that's really bad. We need more production, more interviews, some ''Day in his life'', etc. Show fans that he really exists. He's like Yetti, altho I fuck with his beats for life.

yeah i was considering to put such an option in the poll, but i figured that i could also cover it with "other option" ;)
anyway, yeah that's a good alternative ;)

yeah exactly :P
sure it's his project, but at the end of the day it's a commercial product.

Release Detox without compromising quality for mainstream success. I don't give a fuck how long we have waited for the album, if it comes out and is at least as good as 2001 I will be happy.

How could it be at least as good as 2001 when he fucks over with other producers on it :-\?
Not pure Dr. Dre, No Dr. Dre.

atleast a XXL interview.

2001 wasn't really pure Dre either ;)
besides, it's the quality that counts.

No it wasn't, but it was still such an in-house production to me 8).
But you're right of course.

ok ;)
i think you shouldn't worry about Dre's involvement though; this will probably be one of the last, if not the last project that features a lot of Dre production.
also keep in mind that everybody has submitted stuff for Detox, but that doesn't say much about the final product ;)
i think you should be more worried about the direction of the album, and whether it comes out or not :P
-
he cant make it up with me. dre treats his fans like bitches, like everyone will eagerly wait for any scrap or morsel he finally decides to release. im not with that shit, if detox ever comes out i am going to bootleg the hell out of it

Co-sign. So no corny popstars like Fergie or Justin Timberlake on Detox. Keep it real hip hop.

i bet this forum would explode if it did happen though :o

I'm not sure, i would really like for Detox to drop..If that is not on the cards for theforseeable future, then i think Dre should focus on what he said in a recent interview, find an artist and work with the said artis.

Definitely a Detox single would be the most pleasant treat for most of the fans, but personally I wouldn't mind if he logged on to dubcc.com and announced Detox being cancelled for good.
-
Make up with the fans? For what? Did he get drunk and push us down the stairs? Did he promise to come to our little league game and forget? Pac said it best in the Sway interview. "You should be fans because you like the artist, not because he starts sucking you off the moment he sees you." If you think Dre has fallen off, don't buy the record. If you think he's dope, cop it. It shouldn't be about whether it's an all-West G-Funk album or whether he does whole fucking interviews. Nobody is doing G-Funk anymore or has been for awhile and the ones who were doing it weren't getting support from half of you anyway. The 90's are over. It ain't coming back. Booing Dre for not doing a "Chronic" reunion makes about as much sense as being mad at a basketball team for using a new roster instead of the players they had in 1993. Where is the challenge for an artist to do the same fucking music he already did right 15 years ago? If anyone thinks his new album is gonna sound anything like his Death Row stuff, you need to look at things from a more realistic perspective. It's not like you can pout and threaten to hold your breath until it magically becomes 1994 again. Why not try to guilt trip Quincy into making another "Thriller" while you're at it?
-
For all the anger people have over Dre delaying Detox and rejecting artists, the second album drops everyone will jump right back on his nuts. So I don't think he is too worried about making it up to the fans.

No shit. It's kind of funny because people are already all pissed off about it and there isn't even a tracklist. Dre has not confirmed any of these rumors. People just hear "Fergie is gonna be on it" or Lil Wayne and they take it like it's official. There has been hundreds of rumors over the years. It's one thing if you hate the album when it drops but the only thing we officially know is a title. We can assume Snoop, 50 Cent, and Eminem will be on there because it's Dre but who knows, how big or little a hand they will play? The same cats who bitched when 2001 was not The Chronic (and contrary to how it's received now, there were a lot) are gonna cry for months about how Detox isn't 2001.

:nawty:
at the end of the day it's a commercial product.
it's not like Dre "owes" us anything though.
but when you cause confusion about your product and come with several promises and brake them shortly after, it's only right that people are criticising him for his mistakes.
like i always say, don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
this is not about whether Dre has the right to take the time with Detox.
fans are important; if you're not making music for the fans, then get out the game.
-
Well, bottom line is people will either get over it or they won't buy the album. I don't recall him making any promises about anything but maybe I'm wrong. It also doesn't make some of these so-called "fans" expectations any less ridiculous? Saying that you are gonna give up on Dre if he don't put out an all-West Coast album or put this rapper on it is like saying you're gonna give up on Barack Obama if he doesn't make your favorite rapper's birthday a national holiday.

sure no doubt about that.
personally, as you can read it my first post, a warmup single could get me excited again.
i'll probably buy the album if/when it comes out.
a release would definitely make me forgive Dre and forget about the broken promises.
and yes the expectations of them are insane; we're on the same page when it comes to that.
i call these people klansmen anyway, cause they are not honest.

obama will make it happen
he's been waiting on detox just as long as us
what black man do you know isnt waiting on this album?

yeah he definitely has the right not to release it, just like others have the right to be mad about it if he would.

who says he has to make up? lol
-
who says he has to make up? lol
i do 8)
he could pass a few beats to bishop for his street albums; otherwise they would end up in the shredder anyway
-
Detox coming late 2010 (according to Bishop);
Bishop Lamont interview November 2008 (http://www.hoodhype.com/blog/?p=1998)
oooh well :P :P :P :P
He said late next year.
-
he needs to put jayo on detox.
-
If his next shit aint a classic he is he will be doubted cuz he been havin people waitin so long. Though I must give him his props & a RIP to his son..
-

-
I'm still amazed at how many posters here still think this album will be released
-
fuck detox, he needs to start pushing new artist...
It will be hilarious after all this wait detox ends up being a piece of shit lol
-
I know I aint sittin around thinking about it.

since the situation around Detox has gotten heated recently, it's time for a bump ;)

I think Dre said it best when he said:
"If Yall Don't Like Me.. Blow Me!"
When Detox drops everyone will forget everything they have been saying..
some of the same BS they were saying when '2001' took forever to come out..
"Everybody wanna talk like they (got something to say) but nothing comes out when
they move their wrists (as in typing) just a bunch of (stupid shit)..
and Mufukaz act like they forgot about Dre............" Period.
..Look Out for Detox... haha.

Double disc cd would be real cool
on a side note, Dre has been working with new artist for years (since begining of aftermath) and only one besides em to drop is game...I really dont see no new artist drpping ANY TIME SOON
-
dre should release 2 versions of detox:
1. a mainstream pop charts version feat. these bullshit artists.
2. a underground westcoast exclusive version feat. only westcoast artists.
same beats (only if theyre all produced by dre). oh yea,.... the westcoast version plus a "lost death row tapes" bonus cd. i like that idea.

I don't really feel like Dre has to do anything to square things with me. At this point, I'm really beyond caring about whether or not "Detox" comes out or not. But at the same time, I don't really feel like he owes me that album. I still think there's a pretty good chance it will come out someday and if it does, I'm sure I'll buy it. If not though, I'm not losing any sleep over it.

me neither ;)
it's not that important to me.
i doubt anyone is taking it that serious, as it's just music at the end of the day.
-
looking back to the poll, it's funny to notice, that Dre didn't put out a Detox warm up single, but Crack a bottle was released ;)

And this statement. Im sure detox will be alot better than all this gay repetitive shit ive been hearin lately.

you know what, i removed my original vote & changed it to: he should scrap Detox and fully concentrate on producing for other artists.
i don't think it contradicts what i wrote in the first post of this topic, as that was a first reaction ( speaking of Detox fever, lol!).
anyway, the reason for my vote, is that there is supposed to be a minimal amount of finished songs on an album called Detox.
you can't please everyone and that's exactly why the final product is not something for me to look forward to & be excited about anymore.
i'm sure Dre will try to please as many listeners as possible; since it became clear to me that some people have a horrible taste, i predict that it will ruin the album a bit for me.
not to mention that Dre is concerned with success: he wants Detox to be huge and that's certainly not something that i'm interested in.
i guess it was more exciting to picture what you would hope Detox to be like, as discussed in the Detox discussion topic.
based on past work, i'm quite sure Dre has several unfinished songs in the vaults that probably appeal to me ;)
but you know, when Dre puts them to the side, it's time to say "fuck Dre's vision"
i'm still curious of the outcome though.
and i hope for the ones that still anticipate the album, that it will come out one day.
so Dre doesn't need to "make up" with me as a fan, but i wouldn't mind if Detox got scrapped & he starts to focus on producing for other artists more :)
i mean, even though Relapse heavily disappointed me, i would still like to see what an other mainly Dre produced album sounds like, as he has a different vision for other artists than for himself.
though it's fine too, if it doesn't happen ;)
-
how can he make up with his fans?
He don't need to,they're complaining no matter what.
So scrap Detox and give us a another NWA album instead.
