probably because he want to get big radio plays and the song is catchy, but Touchdown will be better choice imo, when he wants chick song as single
"Entourage" star Kevin Connolly has been tagged to step behind the scenes to direct The Game's upcoming music video, "Camera Phone."
According to People, the actor/director, who is most known for his role as "E" on the hit show Entourage, was recently hired by the popular West Coast rapper to put together the video, which also stars R&B crooner Ne-Yo.
"I got hired on Wednesday (October 29) and we're shooting on Tuesday," Connolly told People. "I've been scrambling around all weekend."
"It's fun because the turnaround is quick," he added. "You shoot it, you edit that week, and a week later Game will have his video. It's amazing."
In an effort to make his video more unique, Connolly plans to mimic the design and feel of Martin Scorsese's classic gangster movie Goodfellas for the clip.
"He's gonna be dressed up in suits and that kind of thing," he added. "I just want to make this different than anything he's ever done."
While there is said date for the video premiere, Connolly says it may be out as little as next week.

I don't think it's a good pick at all. It's nothing new or different from any other singles that you hear on the radio every day. Chours from Ne-Yo, production from Cool N Dre, big whoop.
Now "Angel" would be a completley different story. It's a shame Interscope (and artists?) suck at picking singles.

That's exactly why it's a good pick for a single. Singles are meant to push sales. In a perfect world, songs similar to "Angel" would be great to hear on the radio but the radio isn't what it used to be.

Props to game for another single hopefully he will got platinum. It's funny how Game choose "E" from entourage to shoot his video. I think he got that idea after Omar Cruz had Wilmer Vallderrama "FEZ". What youl'l think?

I think a re-release of LAX is coming. That or start making more deluxe edition copies. Any new fans or people that cop the regular album will not get this song so I bet they will do one or the other.

Since we're on the subject, a lot of rappers/artists do singles for their albums that aren't on the first print. Think the "P.I.M.P." remix with Snoop or that song Busta did with Puffy that turned into a remix by the time it came out as a single or the re-released and more commonly-known "Crossroads" with Bone Thugs. It happens.
I just like how the director talks up borrowing a concept from a gangster movie (in this case, "Goodfellas) for a rapper's video like it is groundbreaking or something.

Wait a minute here, didn't 50 Cent add Mobb Deep to his "Massacre" album when they dropped that hit record "Outta Control" that was only available on bonus versions? The Game is doing a great marketing scheme with this to keep the album moving units and I think he could drop "Money" as the next single. But this is a great move. More artists on the West need to start collabing with Ne-Yo!

Since we're on the subject, a lot of rappers/artists do singles for their albums that aren't on the first print. Truth. Plus it never hurts the label to get more single sales especially. They obviously feel this could be a hit - release a single, make a video, make profit. At least in theory.
Remember a little tune from the 90's called California Love, by these two dudes 2Pac and Dr. Dre? Yeah, wasn't on an album either. (Not saying this song is of that magnitude though.)
